Howow miles faster than me I did that one yesterday too) but I'm about 3st overweight and nearly 40.

Hope W9R1 goes well @MrsHerculePoirot

howow · 26/03/2020 14:24

Thanks for the reply @Jfw82. Are you planning to finish the course during lockdown? What do you plan to do after?

howow · 26/03/2020 14:25

@MrsHerculePoirot that’s exciting that you’ve done 24 runs, and have only 3 to go!

@howow def going to be finishing it -well as long as exercise is an allowed outing- i I get out by 7am and live over the road from a decent sized park so only see the odd person and dog. Plan is then a couple more weeks repeating week 9 to get more comfortable and then I'm looking online for a plan to do a build up from 5k to 10k

MrsHerculePoirot · 26/03/2020 22:33

I’ve done more than that 24 as repeated lots of runs/weeks here and there!

W9R1 was good! I felt ok doing it - did 4.57km (inc walks at start and finish). Knee support helped a bit, going to take naproxen or similar before next one too - it helps for a few days when we ski so might help.

Might also lay off the joe wicks PE craziness every morning if tender tomorrow 🤣🤣🤣

frustratedashell · 28/03/2020 00:23

Ran 3k today outside. Furthest yet . I'm trying to get up to 5k outside by my Birthday on 4th April. Might be a stretch but I'm going to give it my all

Howow · 28/03/2020 00:29

Just completed week 7 run 2.
Was really windy, cold and the first 5 minutes were the hardest.

Overall, I managed to do 4.6km (in the 25 minute running bit only)... but weird thing is my app says 4.6km but my associated smart watch says I only ran 4km - even though I turned both of them to start and stop recording at the same time.

MrsHerculePoirot · 28/03/2020 18:33

W9R2 done today. Just one more to go!

Annoyingly my strava didn’t record properly though and I added a tiny bit to my route to make it 5k I think!

I will try again on Monday though!

Well done everyone keeping going in these weird times.

Jfw82 · 28/03/2020 18:55

Good going @howow and @MrsHerculePoirot I'm off for W7R2 and hoping to improve pace as have slowed down my last two runs!

MrsHerculePoirot · 30/03/2020 18:08

Just leaving this here....

Fantastic @MrsHerculePoirot. Well done. I ran today, wasnt great. Only managed 2k.

Jfw82 · 31/03/2020 08:29

Woohoo way to go @MrsHerculePoirot
Can I ask did you do 5k in the time? I'm definitely not going to as on W8 and only just making it to 4K I'm so slow!

MrsHerculePoirot · 31/03/2020 08:51

No, not yet! On W8 I was doing about 4.2 (including the warmup and cool down walks). W9 I’m doing about 4.5 k (inc walks). My plan is to repeat and aim to get to 5k in the time inc walks, then next aim will be to get to 5k just in the run bit!

howow · 31/03/2020 10:15

That's great @MrsHerculePoirot something productive to achieve during lockdown :)

I'm on week 7 run 3 but hesitant to go do it as it feels wrong to during "time of the month"

bettytaghetti · 31/03/2020 11:30

Congrats @MrsHerculePoirot! Well done! 🎉🎉🎉

howow · 31/03/2020 20:14

Ended up doing W7R3 after all, today and did about 4.6km in the 25 mins of running.

Only 2 more weeks left!

howow · 01/04/2020 15:50

This thread seems to have quietened down since lockdown.

MrsHerculePoirot · 01/04/2020 17:21

I know! I also think those ahead moved to their graduate thread. I’m not ready for that so staying out for a while if ok!!! Going out again tomorrow, sticking for now to my same three days a week but might up that next week.

MrsHerculePoirot · 02/04/2020 16:13

Ran again today - does that count as W10R1?!? I went a bit faster and covered 4.7km and my pace was fastest it’s been so far! Is it ok for me to stay and post here with you guys please?!

howow · 02/04/2020 20:13

Of course @MrsHerculePoirot :)

That sounds good. 4.7km within the run section only?

I've got a new app literally called "10K" (red icon) which I've installed to have a look and it kinda follows a similar kind of thing but we'd be able to start midway through the program (as it's from 0 to 10K)

MrsHerculePoirot · 03/04/2020 00:16

No still with the walks sadly..... I’ll keep going though! And look at that other app now...

Jfw82 · 03/04/2020 09:57

W8R3 done and did 4.1k (including walking bits) which was my best yet. Felt I put more effort in today and loved it. Starting W9 on Sunday aiming to finish on Good Friday.

Thanks for tip on that 10K app Howow, I know I need structure to keep me running and I'd like eventually get to 10K (think i need to work on pace so I actually complete 5k first though Smile)

Sorry for posting that twice - it told me had failed, obviously not! How does it feel to be done @MrsHerculePoirot ? Are you still
motivated to get out?

MrsHerculePoirot · 03/04/2020 10:07

Yes I am actually and motivated to stick with that last podcast until I hit 5k for now. Also found these which might be useful: www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/couch-to-5k-plus-running-podcasts/
