I did W4R2 earlier this afternoon. It was the second time I had come back hot and sweaty and I could feel myself getting a headache so staved it off with some rapid pain relief. I guess I am pushing myself a bit too hard. The thing is I did try to run a bit faster but I ended all the runs and walks at roughly the same place so I couldn't have been that much more of a pace. Maybe I walked quicker in the between the runs! Or it could be that it's all marginal.

I'm having a bit of trouble believing that I'll be able to run for 30 minutes solid in just over a month!

mouldygrapes · 25/01/2020 17:07

I’m sure you can take it slower or repeat weeks if necessary - not sure that’s official advice but seems practical if it’s the choice between that or not doing it because of injury or because you feel you’re not making progress

mouldygrapes · 25/01/2020 18:57

At least that’s what I’ll be doing! I’m already behind schedule and it’s only week 2 but that’s OK

Did W4R2 this morning - in daylight! OK, so 8am Sunday morning is not teeming with people but...little steps. Managed the runs fine - still cannot believe where I am compared with 3 weeks ago when I thought I wouldn't even manage the first 1 minute run!! I bought myself an armband yesterday for my phone, so now spend longer faffing around getting myself set up. Looked at running shoes in Decathlon but really need to wait for payday...
Really encouraged by sharing here and hearing from others!

myfuckingfreezer · 26/01/2020 11:46

Someone make me go for a run Blushserious cba feeling today but must persevere!

sovielverloren · 26/01/2020 12:40

@myfuckingfreezer. GO! You will feel better for it! I expect you to report back 😀

ThursdayLastWeek · 26/01/2020 12:50

It is absolutely acceptable to repeat weeks/runs if you need to. The whole point of this programme is that (in theory) you never push yourself SO hard that you give up on exercise entirely. Learning to manage how your body reacts to different circumstances is part of this whole new you!

I’m running c25k as part of rehab from an injury and the advice my physio gave me was never to move to the next week until the previous one is comfortable. I think that’s relevant to all of us Smile

W3R2 completed this lunchtime.

CormoranStrike · 26/01/2020 17:50

W4r3 done - my hardest yet; I don’t like running in the dark and my headphones ran out of battery.

And I have a tiny sore point on the sale of my foot, maybe a corn.

But, I didn’t stop

CormoranStrike · 26/01/2020 17:59

Actually shoes now off and that wee sore bit hurts - pharmacy tomorrow!

MrsHerculePoirot · 26/01/2020 20:55

Well done for not stopping @CormoranStrike!

frustratedashell · 26/01/2020 21:24

Still not able to run, its driving me crazy! Patience is not one of my virtues. But my knees are improving so hopefully wont be too long now. Unfortunately my finances have taken a hit this month so the running shoes will have to wait a while.

myfuckingfreezer · 26/01/2020 22:52

I went @sovielverloren! But definitely my worst run yet - W4R3. Am going to keep doing week 4 runs till they get easier I think. Am getting my orthotic insoles on Tuesday from the physio so hopefully that will help!

BreastOfIntentions · 26/01/2020 23:46

Just finished W5 R3 - 20 mins of solid running! I shocked myself by running on for another 3 minutes after the running time ended, to get up to 4K. Keep on plugging everyone!

mouldygrapes · 27/01/2020 10:04

Well done @cormoranstrike @myfuckingfreezer and @BreastOfIntentions.
@frustratedashell - so annoying but hope you’re up and running soon.
I booked an abs / bums class on Sunday thinking it would be a gentle mat based class - many squats and quite a bit of cardio (no complaints, just not what I expected!) later my thighs are really feeling it today. Should be doing a run tonight but not sure I can actually make my legs work! Let’s see

IsolaPribby · 27/01/2020 11:54

Just completed W3R3. A bit apprehensive about week 4, but if I find it too hard, will repeat Week 3. Though am very pleased with myself that I have got this far, and done every run without stopping!

The final 5 minute walk was in the rain, so looking forward to a hot shower now!

CormoranStrike · 27/01/2020 12:25

The week five step up, particularly towards the end, seems massive.

How did you all find it?

Ulysses · 27/01/2020 12:50

I did W4R3 at lunchtime there. I cope much better on a flatter route and it was fine.

@cormoranstrike I just looked ahead at week 4 Shock. I guess its doable given the success of the program but looking forward to hearing feedback from others that are slightly ahead of me.

Ulysses · 27/01/2020 12:51

I meant week 5 and run 3 in particular!

Ulysses · 27/01/2020 12:52

Well done @IsolaPribby - it was snowing a bit when I did my last run!

BreastOfIntentions · 27/01/2020 12:57

@CormoranStrike and @Ulysses, I opened W5 R3 last night and when I saw 20 mins of running I was trying to find excuses not to do it. But you know what, I didn't find it difficult at all once I started. Now I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit sore this morning, but I think that's to be expected! Haven't even opened W6 yet to see what lies ahead but you should feel confident that you can do it!

IsolaPribby · 27/01/2020 13:00

Thank you @Ulysses rain I can cope with, but the ice and frost is another matter!

redavocado · 27/01/2020 13:06

cormoran I've just done w5, r2. It's the first time I haven't actually managed to run all the run bits so I think I'm going to be repeating it rather than moving on to the next. There's no way I can do a solid 20 mins at the moment!

ThursdayLastWeek · 27/01/2020 14:50

The only reason I’m going to run in a bit is because it’s r3 and I’m a bit bored of w3 and I want to move onto the next week!

sovielverloren · 27/01/2020 18:40

@myfuckingfreezer belated well done! And to everybody reporting in. I have W4R3 tomorrow - so far I have kept up with the increases but reports of W5 are worrying!

CormoranStrike · 27/01/2020 18:43

I went for my weight watchers weigh in tonight - I have eaten my own body weight in biscuits this past fortnight. Big portions too and no tracking.

But I have run three days a week.

And I lost two pounds! Motivation indeed.
