Anyone else uncomfortable about Eamonn Holmes with Ruth Langford?

To begin with I thought it was just banter but the more I watch them on This Morning, the more I want to shout at Ruth to tell him where to go! The other day he got something wrong whilst interviewing & Ruth pointed it out ( kindly). He came back with “ Showing me up in front of a stranger”. Just no need for it.

I was just having this exact conversation with my sister. Run, Ruth!!! You deserve better Grin

nowaypose · 18/12/2019 12:55

I’ve thought this for years. She seems like a genuinely lovely person, I think she deserves a lot better.

I think he often comes across as uncomfortable and she is natural, but there relationship is none elses business.

He adores her. And she him. It’s just relationship banter.

Wereallsquare · 18/12/2019 13:21

Oh, I could not watch them at all for the longest time because their 'banter' seemed so cringeworthy. It was like being stuck at a very uncomfortable dinner party in the home of a couple who hated each other but were pretending otherwise for the sake of social status.

However, one morning I stuck it out for a full episode and somehow I came around and now think they actually seem genuinely fond of one another, despite showing it in a very odd way. Much prefer them to Phil and Holly!

ForalltheSaints · 18/12/2019 13:23

OP, surely there are better things to do in the morning than watch what you find an awful programme?

whatalovelytub · 18/12/2019 13:35

I disagree! Love these two. Not so keen on Schofe and Holly but I think Ruth and Eamon are so natural together and as pp said, everything I've seen suggests they are crazy about each other.

Crinkle77 · 18/12/2019 13:36

I can't stick him. I'm sure it's all part of their TV persona but yes he does seem to try and humiliate Ruth at times.

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 18/12/2019 13:37

He adores her. And she him. It’s just relationship banter.

Unless you are either of them, how can you possibly know this?

LoseLooseLucy · 18/12/2019 13:39

I love Eamonn Xmas Blush

Claphands · 18/12/2019 13:43

I loathe Eammon 🤣

SinglePringle · 18/12/2019 13:44

Unless you are either of them, how can you possibly know this?

Because I’ve worked with them and seen them up close.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 18/12/2019 13:45

Looks like relationship banter to me, me and DH are similar Grin

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 18/12/2019 13:51

Sorry still don't buy it. Loads of people are surprised by unpleasant stuff that goes on in relationships even within their own families. How many times do we hear people expressing surprise when people split up or it comes out the couple in question we're really troubled, because on the surface they seemed to get on so well?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 18/12/2019 13:53

I'd be quite happy never to see Eamon on telly every again, dreadful man.

LucyLocketss · 18/12/2019 13:59

He's a genuinely decent person actually. I was at some police awards thing a few years ago and he was there. No arrogance about him, he was chatting to people and introduced himself as if he didn't expect anyone to know who he was. Just a genuinely nice bloke in 'real life' . He was interested to hear people's stories and just came across really well

So I can only speak as I found

SinglePringle · 18/12/2019 13:59

Well, I’ll continue to base my opinion on my experience of them. They’re both very lovely to work with. Lovely and respectful to the teams etc.

Wieas · 18/12/2019 23:08

I think Eamonn and Ruth are brilliant.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 18/12/2019 23:22

Could never watch this morning when they were on.Hes an embarrassment and she always looks amused as if shes remembering a private joke constantly.

blubelle7 · 19/12/2019 01:28

It gets awkward at times. I vacillate between thinking it's cute relationship banter and gosh how awkward, can Eamon shut up. I certainly couldn't do it. I really like Ruth though.

PepePig · 19/12/2019 01:49

A lot of people don't get N Irish banter, do they Hmm

GruffaIoChrimbo · 19/12/2019 02:18

He turned up every week to see her do Glitterball despite hating it and he was okay despite her launching herself at Tony Beak in the launch show and straddling him in the paso cos she got awkward on both occasions and did what first came to mind Xmas Grin
So he'll do for me.

EvenMoreFuriousVexation · 19/12/2019 02:20

I've always thought he was a bitchy fake who was camper than a field full of tents.

Amibeingnaive · 19/12/2019 02:46

I had to laugh when I heard Ruth made a complaint about Schofe interrupting her. Is Eamonn the only one allowed to do that, then?

breakfastpizza · 19/12/2019 04:26

My friend works with him and says he's pompous and unpleasant.
