Anyone else uncomfortable about Eamonn Holmes with Ruth Langford?

To begin with I thought it was just banter but the more I watch them on This Morning, the more I want to shout at Ruth to tell him where to go! The other day he got something wrong whilst interviewing & Ruth pointed it out ( kindly). He came back with “ Showing me up in front of a stranger”. Just no need for it.

im sorry but she embarrasses him too.or is it ok because a woman can do it to a man but it look cruel the other way round?she is constantly making fun.
and when you saw him and how horrid he looked for hr when she had to take time off due to his sil sudden death.he was literally breaking down on camera to the point Rylan had to step in! that was not fake.

MutedUser · 19/12/2019 04:33

Comes across as harmless banter to me she seems very happy . Obviously that’s just my opinion . He does seem sarcastic to everyone though.

JolieOBrien · 19/12/2019 04:45

@Bunnylady53

I think she tells him off and they have a kind of weird insult each other kind of relationship which me and my husband sometimes have. For example my other half is color blind and is always wearing strange outfits which I hate so I tell him he looks like Charlie Cairoli who was a well known clown.

I don't find him at all attractive but I think Ruth does or she would not have married him.

Eamonn spoils Biggleton.

Angelw · 19/12/2019 05:26

I love the two, both seem so natural, problem is people always prefer actors Grin

AlexaPourMeAnEggnog · 19/12/2019 06:33

@PepePig exactly - you’ve hit the nail on the head.

JolieOBrien · 19/12/2019 06:36

Here is the best of their bickering.

maddiemookins16mum · 19/12/2019 07:03

I remember hoe Richard used to put Judy down, it was cringeworthy.

gingersausage · 19/12/2019 07:07

I love how a PP who has met him for all of five minutes whilst he has his “public persona” hat on can authoritatively state that he’s a genuinely decent person 🤣.

Couples “banter“ is generally cringeworthy for anyone outside the couple. Playing it out on national television makes it a million times more so.

bohemia14 · 19/12/2019 07:10

I knew Eamonn years ago when we were young. He was a really nice guy, very warm and interested in people. I think it's just banter between him and Ruth.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 19/12/2019 07:15

I'm very uncomfortable with Eamonn Holmes generally, particularly because he thinks that a policeman who says he's a woman should be able to perform an intimate search on an unwilling woman which is all kinds of wrong.

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 19/12/2019 07:44

I am pretty sure Ruth can hold her own against Eamonn ! She is a smart cookie. Bet she gives him hell when off camera!

FAQs · 19/12/2019 07:48

They equally wind each other up but are also very affectionate at times just seems like normal natural relationship, be very odd if they were all smiles and teeth the whole time.

Dowser · 19/12/2019 07:49

And I thought it was Judy who kept Richard in line and stopped him from being a total dick

Elbeagle · 19/12/2019 07:54

I agree OP. He’s vile to her. I find it really uncomfortable viewing!

Elbeagle · 19/12/2019 07:56

I think the most annoying thing about him is that he dishes out the ‘banter’ (hate that word) but he can’t take it. He’s like a defensive child when any of the banter is aimed at him.

Olivia676 · 19/12/2019 07:59

Not at all. Eamonn and Ruth have a fabulous relationship, she’s always said he always makes her laugh. It’s just banter between them. Eamonn’s a lovely man with a lovely family who clearly adore him

TheStuffedPenguin · 19/12/2019 08:01

Yesterday's show was particularly bad . She looked like she was totally fed up with him as he "Scrooged" every Christmas item they did.

DingDongSchadenfreudeOnHigh · 19/12/2019 08:06

I've always thought him very unpleasant, but when she was on Strictly a couple of years ago, I got the impression that they are a genuinely happy and very loving couple. I was surprised.

I still don't like him on TV though, but as far as their marriage goes, it seems to suit them both whatever the real dynamic is.

Emmacb82 · 19/12/2019 08:09

I’m not that keen on them, too much bickering gets irritating. And it’s quite ironic that apparently Ruth got annoyed at Schofe for interrupting her - how does she cope with Eamon then?! I’m sure that’s all nonsense anyway.

chillykiwi · 19/12/2019 08:32

Breakfast TV Is dire anyway so I am glad to give the whole thing a miss. Radio 4 is (was) better until the presenters started being so vile and biased but that's not their fault.

Chickychickydodah · 19/12/2019 08:33

I can’t stand the bloke , I don’t know why he is so liked 🤮

Ijustwanttoretire · 19/12/2019 08:37

I've met him - I did a game show he hosted and he is the most obnoxious man I have ever met. And by 'eck I've met a few...

InterdimensionalManiac · 19/12/2019 08:50

I cannot watch him, he is awful and I don't like him, especially after the incident a few years ago on a lottery show, some intruder came on set and he HID behind a woman! what a big manShock

DingDongSchadenfreudeOnHigh · 19/12/2019 08:56

I didn't know about that Interdimensional!

What a cowardly twat!
