Just a quiet place to sit. If you want to gloat or opinionate about Corbyn please go over to AIBU.

Feeling very out of sync with England & if this is who the English are, count me out! Like others have said, expected a Con win but been surprised at how absolutely gutted I feel. Eldest DD has been campaigning for Caroline Lucas and is absolutely raging - at nearly 50 I’m more used to being disappointed.

Big hugs and thanks to whoever started this thread. Been a night when I’m sure many of us have felt isolated and horrified.

On one hand I feel very sad and displaced, I don't feel comfortable in my own country anymore. On the other I feel totally burned out politically, like I just don't care

Time to perhaps rethink your 'beliefs' because if you are that out of step with your fellow man...

jewel1968 · 13/12/2019 06:01

Can't help but think people voted as if it were a referendum on the EU. The remain vote was split. This election should never have happened but some in parliament pushed for it and they were remain MPs. Wonder how they feel today.

youkiddingme · 13/12/2019 06:02

First Tory Mp here in living memory. Gutted. And scared.

Bluesheep8 · 13/12/2019 06:03

lisjas your daughter's private school? Seriously?? Hmm

SecondaryBurnzzz · 13/12/2019 06:03

I feel sick. All my hope is gone. More poverty and greed to come, without the safety net of the EU.

Disgusted with this result and concerned for the poor, sick and vulnerable in the UK. Unbelievable.

ParsleyPot · 13/12/2019 06:04

It's rubbish

Why so little reflection? Why are you not cussing for being so blind? You live in a bubble where you really do not hear the general feeling and call for change?

itwaseverthus · 13/12/2019 06:07

Blah blah blah, NHS DEATH HUNGER. The principled schtick only goes so far until you throw the Jews under the bus. You have been seen.

Piggywaspushed · 13/12/2019 06:08

Two marginals in my family. Mine stayed Labour by 100 votes (well, actually not mine but next door-800 yards to boundary!- and the one I care about). DS's student seat went to a very right wing Tory expenses fiddler by over 4000. I am not sure the student vote mobilised there but at least he did his bit.

I had a Scottish childhood and grew up there when the whole of Scotland was Red. I feel sad, anxious and sad. And anxious.

Broken11Girl · 13/12/2019 06:08

The 2 (that I've seen) Tory trolls on a thread started for peaceful support are beyond despicable. There are vulnerable women on here. No I haven't personally commented on any political threads on here, tried to avoid tbh, no

Jasmin82 · 13/12/2019 06:09

@itwaseverthus this thread is for people who are upset and scared about the result. If you want to gloat, I'm sure there's a thread for you somewhere on MN or start your own. Don't rub it in on people who are looking at losing everything they have and some even their lives. If you had even one iota of compassion, you wouldn't have come on this thread.

I think you'll find you have plenty of anti semites . Don't need to look much further than Jacob Rees Mogg.

PinkCrayon · 13/12/2019 06:10

I feel absolutely gutted they have had such a large win. I feel ashamed to be British. And I feel really awful that so many have voted in such a racist, self serving prime minister. What an absolute mess.

SJaneS48 · 13/12/2019 06:11

Seriously? What kind of complete and utter fuckwit are you to be gloating on this thread? How desperately sad is your own little life that you feel the need to do it? I’m sure you’re an absolute delight in real life!

Tippexy · 13/12/2019 06:12

I’m looking forward to seeing a Conservative government being able to get on and govern with true conservative policies now that:

  • the books are balancing after the Labour spend-for-all, meaning we can come out of austerity.
  • people forget conservatives had one arm tied behind their back being in a coalition so we couldn’t see true Conservatism.
  • Brexit will be done!
  • the ordinary man and woman on the street has made their voice heard. Absolutely bloody brilliant.
Moomin8 · 13/12/2019 06:13

I feel sick too. Things couldn't be any worse. I'm in hospital to get induced. At least I did get out, vote and try to do my bit. It's all very depressing. People don't read the manifestos I guess...

itwaseverthus · 13/12/2019 06:13

Ah throw insults all you like, you back and mourn a party investigated for anti-semitism. Be proud of that if you can. I would be mortified. I gloat. You are awful to morn that party in the 21st century. I will post where and when I like.

GertrudeCB · 13/12/2019 06:14

Good god, just woken up to the news ( cant stay up due to medication).
Shocked doesn't even begin to cover it.Sad

Moomin8 · 13/12/2019 06:14

Ignore itwasneverthus. Disability and illness won't ever happen to their family because they're above it I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️
