Just a quiet place to sit. If you want to gloat or opinionate about Corbyn please go over to AIBU.

OP posts:
xJodiex · 13/12/2019 05:06

How could people do this? I think it's all rigged, there, I said it.

lboogy · 13/12/2019 05:06

Watched with horror tonight. I have a heavy heart

shallwedanc · 13/12/2019 05:10

It’s the acceptance of misogyny, racism and the erosion of services for the vulnerable.
Remind you of anywhere in the 1930’s........I’m genuinely scared for the future

The same country who's leaders ego and insane ideologies and personal agenda were more important than anything else. The same country and leader who's lasting impact on the world was the genocide of 6 million Jews who's anti Semitic tendencies were minimised and brushed under the carpet. The same country who's Jewish population raised concerns about their safety well being and future during his time as leader before he had access to the power of leadership were told were they being silly ... yeah ok doesn't sound anything like a certain political leader who shall remain nameless

Ginfordinner · 13/12/2019 05:16

Our "safe" seat is now Tory. South Yorkshire is no longer a sea of red Sad

WTF0ver · 13/12/2019 05:19

Woke up to the full horror of it all. Mostly numb though. Feels like a bad dream.

Riddo · 13/12/2019 05:20

I'm gutted. 😢

Soontobe60 · 13/12/2019 05:20

@LissJas

Well I'm thrilled that my dd private school will no longer be under threat.

That just about sums it . Whereas the school where I work has had its funding cut to the bare bones so much so that we've had to cancel our Y6 residential which we usually subsidise heavily. The vast majority of our pupils have never actually been on holiday, never been camping, never known privilege. And you're gloating that your highly privileged dd will continue to be so, therefore continuing to uphold a totally immoral class based system where the only person that matters is yourself.
Shame on you for your crass, greedy, selfish post!

tinytemper66 · 13/12/2019 05:21

I can't believe how much of Wales has turned blue!

BarbedBloom · 13/12/2019 05:23

On one hand I feel very sad and displaced, I don't feel comfortable in my own country anymore. On the other I feel totally burned out politically, like I just don't care.

raskolnikova · 13/12/2019 05:29

Just joining in the group hug. Sad

VashtaNerada · 13/12/2019 05:31

I can't believe how much of Wales has turned blue! Mining families voting tory is so shocking and terrifying. How could people forget what they’ve done?

Kubo · 13/12/2019 05:32

On one hand I feel very sad and displaced, I don't feel comfortable in my own country anymore. On the other I feel totally burned out politically, like I just don't care.

Just about sums it up for me too.

Willowcat77 · 13/12/2019 05:33

Just woke up too early with a feeling of crushing sadness and extreme anxiety. How can people be so stupid and selfish? I partly blame our toxic, lying right wing media. I fear for our country, we now have an unfettered hard right government, it's terrifying 🙁

SwedishEdith · 13/12/2019 05:33

I feel totally burned out politically, like I just don't care.

Me too. If people fall for this shit, then I can't compete with it.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 13/12/2019 05:34

I've lived abroad for too long to still have a vote, but am here visiting family and am absolutely gutted for my home country. I lived through the Thatcher years and I can only see Johnson and his cronies as being much, much worse. @WashingtonIrving, we’re massively privileged ourselves, but would have voted to get Johnson out if we'd had the chance - it is obvious to me that it is up to those who have, to contribute to society in high taxes in order to care for the have-nots. I can't understand the selfishness of our current society and I fear for our children's futures. And I fear history repeating itself in England rather than Germany. I am so very sad for everyone.

How do you do hugs on here? Do Bear Bear Bear hugs count?

PatchworkElmer · 13/12/2019 05:43

Thanks for this OP Flowers

It’s nice to connect with others on this. I’m actually not as angry as I would’ve expected to be- just very, very sad. I can’t believe how stupid people have been. I can’t believe how stupid I was to think it would be different!!

SquashedFlyBiscuit · 13/12/2019 05:45

Im scared. We're vulnerable financially with a SEN kid. My health is iffy. And beyond us the education, nhs etc.

What a future :(

PatricksRum · 13/12/2019 05:46

Thanks OP.
Hugs needed. :(
Been up all night so placemarking for later.

motherrunner · 13/12/2019 05:47

@user1494050295 I’m in Wolves SW which covers the more affluent side of Wolverhampton and has always been a swing seat. In the last year the Tory MP has really targeted my particularly village helping to keep the local GP surgery open and as a lot of people where I live are older this has really appealed to them. I voted Labour (raised on benefits, became a teacher and have been for the last 20 years thanks to a free, quality education) but I knew Conservative would get in because of the Tory campaign in my area.

I’m really sad but hey ho, off to teach all day with my minimal resources ..!

HereForTheHelp · 13/12/2019 05:47

I'm devastated. I'm a civil servant so can't publicly say that I'm devastated. Work is going to be so difficult today, so many of us were hoping for a labour victory and to hear the last of Brexit.

I need a hug too. Didn't bother to stay up once I saw the exit poll but I haven't slept well. I guess the country no longer has a social conscience and we are so divided.

Stabilos · 13/12/2019 05:54

I'm having a weep in bed. I'm from Liverpool and so proud that again, my region stands for togetherness and compassion. I'm old enough to remember the Tory impact on the region in the '80's (though always grateful to Heseltine), to have seen the regeneration through EU funding. The pain caused by the Thatcher role in the Hillsborough cover up runs deep here. Most young Merseyside voters will have little understanding of the events of the 80's, but they chose compassion anyway.

mathanxiety · 13/12/2019 05:55

So sad for you all, and so concerned about my relatives and friends in the UK.

B0bbin · 13/12/2019 05:58

Was predicting this and then I let myself get a little bit hopeful right towards the end. Me and DH have invested so much time and energy into canvassing and leafleting. Feel devastated. It's a terrible result. Friday 13th has never felt so unluckySad Flowers flowers for anyone who is going to be directly affected by cuts, universal credit, unfair treatment of disabled people... most of us. The media has a lot to answer for.

itwaseverthus · 13/12/2019 05:58

Celebrate good times, come on! We don't have an anti-semite in the 21st century UK, what's not to love?
