Just a quiet place to sit. If you want to gloat or opinionate about Corbyn please go over to AIBU.

My lovely local mp, a local man who was in the top 25 of best mps in a recent poll, has been voted out and replaced by a Tory that has been shipped in from somewhere else.

GarkandGookin · 13/12/2019 07:40

Thank you. I need a hug.
I work in SEN, we are already letting children down with the lack of services. My heart breaks for their futures.

TheBlueStocking · 13/12/2019 07:40

I'm heartbroken.

TheBlueStocking · 13/12/2019 07:41

But we did win our Labour seat here so I'm holding onto that.

Potentialmadcatlady · 13/12/2019 07:42

I’m literally in bits... My life limited child’s life is now hanging by a thread.. I can’t work because I look after him... how the hell am I going to get him through this...

KizzyWayfarer · 13/12/2019 07:43

i feel very sad. sad that people care so little for the vulnerable.as a parent of a severely disabled adult, this is not good.
But at least our guy got back in locally. so my vote counted.

I need a cuddle too Sad I am devastated for our country. I truly hope I am wrong and we will prosper but I am terrified for my children's future.

whataballbag · 13/12/2019 07:47

I'm gutted.

I live in quite a deprived area and labour have lost a seat they've held for 27 years.

It's a fucking shame

Threesocks · 13/12/2019 07:47

Gutted

B0bbin · 13/12/2019 08:00

We must remember that many people who don't really engage with politics until an election have just believed everything that they've heard, seen or read. The right- wing press have basically implied Corbyn was a terrorist. The BBC also have a lot to answer for. People trust them...

Karwomannghia · 13/12/2019 08:02

Squeezing in

JoyceJames · 13/12/2019 08:05

Me too.

SpiderCharlotte · 13/12/2019 08:06

I just don’t understand how it’s happened

I keep thinking that then when I realise that I do. There are so many people who say how awful a situation is (food banks, no funding for health care and education etc) but in reality, they really and truly do not care one bit. They're not interested.

I met a neighbour yesterday when I was out walking the dog and she told me she was off to vote and volunteered that she had just voted Tory as 'my kids are out of education now anyway, the business is going great so you have to look after your own don't you'.

This is it right there. The reason that this country is fucked is because no one cares that other people's kids are in poverty. They've never seen it in their own environment so they don't want to believe it happens.

otterses · 13/12/2019 08:06

Gutted doesn't cover it for me. I work in an incredibly deprived area, and I just can't see how this is going to make the already bleak lives the people I work with and better, most are homeless or reliant on benefits for MH issues.

greathat · 13/12/2019 08:07

As a teacher I'm so sad. Schools are so underfunded (state ones anyway) and it's just going to keep getting worse... they were already talking redundancies :(

SpiderCharlotte · 13/12/2019 08:07

Sorry had *been to vote, not off to vote

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 13/12/2019 08:17

I’m devastated. As a disabled person it feels like the country has agreed that I’m worth less.

I also feel like @LissJas stupid posts just summarise Tory selfishness - we ask for one quiet thread just for disappointed people to feel safe but no, less than one page in and she’s there gloating about private school and Tory privilege. It’s a telling insight into the entitled mindset that now once again rubs the country.

TheBlueStocking · 13/12/2019 08:20

@CoffeeWithMyOxygen

You're not worthless xxx

ihateryansworld · 13/12/2019 08:23

It feels bitter sweet here in NI! We managed to oust to of the biggest bigots in Pengelly and Dodds but now we are faves with an enforced Brexit which will inevitably lead to our separation from "the Union" the DUP have done more for a United Ireland than any nationalist party ever.

SpiderCharlotte · 13/12/2019 08:23

@CoffeeWithMyOxygen you are definitely not worthless. The rest of your post I agree with.

Please can I join? Teacher here and just devastated. What a horrible country the UK has become. The breathtaking selfishness of last nights voting is too depressing to contemplate.

Itscoldouthere · 13/12/2019 08:32

So sad 😢
