Just a quiet place to sit. If you want to gloat or opinionate about Corbyn please go over to AIBU.

I just wanted change, any shake up or change (ironically I kind of understand now why people voted for Brexit in desperation). The result means my countrymen are clearly happy with the current situation and want a hard Brexit/ more of the same. That’s a hard pill to swallow, do people really think things are going well in the U.K.?

Jasmin82 how does that work in reality? Is that as real as planting twenty billion trees?

Well, that went well.
Gloaters gottta gloat I guess.
I'm miserable. Yes, Labour played this wrong, but now it looks like a credible opposition in England (because Scotland's away) is a thing of the past. And we all know what a political system without a robust opposition is.
And I've got a cold.

Thank god for common sense.

Now if momentum can be destroyed I’d sleep happier for sure.

TheSultanofPingu · 13/12/2019 06:31

Gutted but not surprised by the result. Very sad day. Labour hold in my town which is a relief as our MP is lovely.
Labour need a new direction now.

Really depressed and feeling very anxious. Holding it together for my older kids who are absolutely devastated. They had so much hope in people and despite my warnings were convinced people want good for others. I think people underestimate how much things like this impact on mental health.

lifeisgoodagain · 13/12/2019 06:35

I have 2 very depressed students asleep on the sofa downstairs and miscellaneous drinks/food containers scattered around.

WellVersedInEtiquette · 13/12/2019 06:36

What have we done? I felt sick like this when trump got in.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 13/12/2019 06:37

Anti-semitism in one party outdoes/is considered worse than rampant xenophobia towards Muslims and EU citizens, as well as anti-semitism, in the winning party? Can someone explain that to me?

foxyknoxy30 · 13/12/2019 06:37

I am stuck with the SNP and tories 😠

GertrudeCB · 13/12/2019 06:38

Ignore the .gloaters.

itwaseverthus · 13/12/2019 06:38

The intelligent response to such events is to question why surely? Why are you so out of step with the majority, and it is the majority. Why no curiosity? Why immediately slating everyone as thick and evil? Where does that get you?

SJaneS48 · 13/12/2019 06:40

@itwaseverthus I think it’s fair to say that while I have Tory friends (that includes the woman who I consider my best friend), we wouldn’t be! Grow up and take a long hard look at yourself. I’m guessing underneath you don’t like what you see.

slipperywhensparticus · 13/12/2019 06:40

I don't know anyone who voted for them yet the mp who bloody admitted he had done wrong got in again are there really 3000 people who are ok with him?

itwaseverthus · 13/12/2019 06:41

I can give you chapter and verse of Labour Antisemitic behaviour, including the Chackrabati whitewash. Would you care to cite the same from the Conservative party>

fromthefloorboardsup · 13/12/2019 06:42

After every election I try to think of things I can do to help, donate to food banks etc., but it's becoming increasingly despairing. I'm so ashamed of England today. I hoped we were more caring than this.

lifeisgoodagain · 13/12/2019 06:42

Wondering if have a German great grandad is enough Grin Italian great great grandad?

VenusStarr · 13/12/2019 06:43

It's scares me that people have voted a government who are so strongly supported by Donald Trump. Donald Trump. Ugh.

I had such hope yesterday. Its a black day 🖤 sending hugs.

I’m so upset.
My mum voted conservative, even though she said she agreed more with the Lib Dem’s. I asked her why?!?!? She said it’s because she’s a staunch conservative and our family have always voted conservative, like it’s a religion or something. I despair!!!
