So...who did you vote for?

I know there are plenty of threads on voting intentions but it makes me wonder how many of those people actually end up voting. So to those who have and don’t mind sharing ..who did you vote for and why?

I haven’t actually voted yet but I will be doing so this evening after work.

I haven't yet either. Waiting for my ipod to charge.

Either be Green or Labour. Still not sure. Hoping the fog clears when I get there.

crankysaurus · 12/12/2019 08:49

Out of curiosity, are there any rules about social media asking about who you actually voted for, in the same way there are for journalists and broadcasters so not too be influencing votes yet to be cast. Also, are you a journalist?

BooksForChristmas · 12/12/2019 08:49

Labour.

PurpleDaisies · 12/12/2019 08:50

I stood in the booth with no idea who to vote for. I ended up voting green.

MakeLemonade · 12/12/2019 08:50

Green

crankysaurus · 12/12/2019 08:51

And in case you're just genuinely curious, that's between me and the ballot box.

malfoylovespotter · 12/12/2019 08:52

Lib Dem.
Tactically.
Won't win but best chance in my area to oust the Tories.

Helmlover1 · 12/12/2019 08:53

Cranky no I’m not a journalist and you don’t need to share if you don’t want to- I did clearly state that in my OP.

Green.

Alliance, the other choices were the swivel-eyed loons of the DUP, the UUP or a Tory.

ArlenesWoodBurningStove · 12/12/2019 08:59

That was just for context, I was happy to vote Alliance, it's not a 'best of a bad lot' scenario. Had Greens been standing I would have voted for them.

lonelyplanetmum · 12/12/2019 08:59

I knew the statistics for 2017 but checked them.

Then I voted for the party most likely to beat the Tory MP. He is one of the millionaire ones who votes to protect bankers' bonuses and to reduce disability and welfare benefits for the most in need.

Labour. Our usually quiet polling station was quite busy. Historically a Tory safe seat but Labour did well at the last GE. Crossing my fingers for an upset here but not optimistic. Hoping the weather doesn’t dissuade people from voting.

Findumdum1 · 12/12/2019 09:05

Labour. Had to vote early as going away for work. Safe Tory seat. Was debating between Labour and Lib Dem. Very hard decision due to both supporting self id but Jo Swinsons ridiculous rubbish the other day about sex bot being binary sent me back to Labour. At least their leader hasn't actually come out with that bollox and has some understanding of biology. I'm happy to pay a bit more tax (over the threshold and self employed so would get hit with corp tax increase as well) to help stop child poverty and fund the NHS.

catlady3 · 12/12/2019 09:06

If looking to vote tactically imo it's much better to check the tactical voting sites (best for Britain, remain united etc - they'll be useful even if you're not interested in supporting remain!) because these use up to date polling rather than just 2017 data. There have been huge swings in all sorts of directions since then, and in some marginals, it's super relevant! Happy voting everyone.

Labour.
Only chance of a tory not winning the seat.
Sadly they probably still will :(

TheOliphantintheRoom · 12/12/2019 09:16

Labour.

I'm in a safe Tory seat so am casting a vote to end austerity, save the NHS and hold a second referendum.

inwood · 12/12/2019 09:17

I was the only person there at 9am.

You might want to check a recent thread in the FWR section ...

Green. Parents both voted labour and DP voted Lib Dem

Labour. I live in a Tory stronghold so it won't make any difference but my MP is a homophobic, racist going by her voting record so there was absolutely no way I was voting for her.
