I've actually found chocolate that I really like.

I've found chocolate that tastes like chocolate. Not posh bars of thin stuff that are really unsatisfying and not things like Cadbury's that now have a waxy after finish , but properly chunky chocolate that tastes like it used to.

It's called Tony's chocolonely. Not sure about the name! But it's properly wrapped in paper and foil, doesn't seem to contain anything it shouldn't and it supports a campaign to end slavery in chocolate. Which is a pretty bloody good aim

I had the chocolate caramel sea salt and it was almost perfect. ( I just wish it could break into even chunks, rather than the creative design it has) I wish I'd bought some other flavours, but next time I'm in town I'll buy a different flavour for comparison.

Love Chocolonely!

Doggodogington · 02/12/2019 12:34

Is this an advert for Chocolonely?

Dieu · 02/12/2019 12:37

Ooh, I saw that in Sainsbury's, but was a bit put off my the 'Poundland' packaging! Must try it. I was impressed by the weight and overall chunkiness of it Grin

I've seen it in petrol stations. The thing that puts me off is the price!

Dieu · 02/12/2019 12:41

Yes, it was pricey. Sounds worth it though!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/12/2019 12:48

I think they could work on the actual branding some.

It is pricey, except it's a decent size bar, so it's not as bad as it seems. Also, I guess slavery helps make chocolate cheap and that ain't great.

Sort of Doggo, except I've been here a long time, having nothing to do with the chocolate industry apart from liking to eat it.

I knew it was going to be this before I even clicked in this post. We ate loads of this in Efteling. Now buy in Sainsburys.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 02/12/2019 12:55

Chocolonely is lush!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/12/2019 12:56

How long has it been around for? I hadn't noticed it until today and it's kind of hard to miss!

Expected it to be this brand and this particular flavour before I opened the post. It's a Dutch brand, there are many many flavours over there. It's been available there for years.

Honestly thought I could make a fortune importing it but then saw they'd beaten me to it!

HairyFloppins · 02/12/2019 13:01

It's been in Sainburys for a few years now and in the Netherlands for longer I would imagine. It's about a £1 cheaper in the Netherlands.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/12/2019 13:11

I'm very glad that they are importing it. Grin

I knew it would be Chocolonely when I clicked on thread

The pretzel one is gorgeous

newbiegreenfingers · 02/12/2019 13:20

I love this chocolate! Oh man I could do with some of that now...

A friend of mine told me it is the only chocolate you can buy with no slavery anywhere in the supply chain. I do not know how true this is!

BustedDreams · 02/12/2019 13:20

I will look for this now on your recommendation Grin

Pancakeflipper · 02/12/2019 13:25

I love it. Sadly so does DP who usually hates chocolate so I have to share..

SandyClawsIsComingToTown · 02/12/2019 13:28

I love it too. I don’t mind the packaging actually, feels a bit like a Wonka bar.

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2019 13:30

www.waitrose.com/ecom/shop/search?&searchTerm=tonys%20chocolonely

It's on offer at Waitrose but only until tomorrow.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/12/2019 13:30

I hope people don't hate it when they buy it Grin

ExpletiveFairylighted · 02/12/2019 13:30

I had some about a month ago and didn't really like it, which is a shame.

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2019 13:31

I am taking Ds out for driving practice OYBBK we may have to make a diversion. Grin

nutellalove · 02/12/2019 13:31

This is my fave chocolate too! First had it in Amsterdam a few years ago.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/12/2019 13:32

That's a shame Expletive :( which flavour did you buy?

That sounds like a plan Sparkling! I think I might have to make a bit of a diversion tomorrow for other flavours, for science purposes of course.

ExpletiveFairylighted · 02/12/2019 13:35

The regular milk one, I'm not a fan of flavoured chocolate.

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2019 13:36
