Has anyone else heard that the queen has died?

I hope it’s not true with everything that’s going on with Prince Andrew. Anyone else heard this?

I mean there’s no actual reason in this day and age for them to delay any announcement. Any arrangements can swing into gear at 9pm as easily as at 9am.

I suppose Commonwealth Heads of Govt would need to be privately informed first, out of courtesy, and so that the tv/radio announcements can be co-ordinated.

When the Queen dies, there will be a short delay so that those who need to be informed in person (eg her family) can be told before it is common knowledge. Then the Prime Ministers/Governors of all territories over which she is sovereign, with short 'embargo'

Then official announcement, because you can't hold it back.

Not somsure what wouid happen re Duke of Ed. He's been far from well for quite some time, but the old bugger keeps going.

The stories are dynamic and every story has the date updated to look like it's been posted 'today'. They're all bollocks.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 01/12/2019 22:04

Nasty speculation.

Anotheruser02 · 01/12/2019 22:04

I reckon she'll fake her own death to get out of dinner with Trump this week. Brilliant Grin

I really want to know what all of these special 'I would have heard' jobs are now.

NotPennysBoat · 01/12/2019 22:05

Charles and Camilla have been photographed "out for a stroll" near Sandringham today, I'm guessing they would have other things on their plate if either Q or PP were at death's door!

ElluesPichulobu · 01/12/2019 22:05

I don't think she's allowed to die until the Netflix tv series catches up with present day.

or maybe she'll be put into permanent cryogenic and never actually die. keeping her body technically alive forever would be one way to make a segue into being effectively a republic whilst still maintaining a very tenuous claim to being a monarchy.

Celebelly · 01/12/2019 22:05

I'm absolutely pissing myself at the engagement story though.

'On Friday morning (November 29, 2019) the British Sun-Times reported Queen Elizabeth II and boyfriend, to be shopping for engagement rings. The couple was seen closely eyeing some pricey bling in a couple of major jewelry stores — especially major diamond baubles that could only be described as the kind usually slipped on a woman’s left-hand ring finger.

According to some insiders, they'll soon be engaged.

The newspaper also added that people who claim to be close to the couple are “convinced” an engagement is inevitable. “She's madly in love with him,” says a source. It is believed the relationship is “heating up”.'

Go on yersel, Madge.

Pixxie7 · 01/12/2019 22:05

The queen will never retire.

Nextphonewontbesamsung · 01/12/2019 22:05

Seriously who cares? You'll find out soon enough when she does die. What is with the unseemly rush to be the first to know?

Letthemysterybe · 01/12/2019 22:06

What kind of jobs do people have where they are informed right away?

FoamingAtTheUterus · 01/12/2019 22:06

She dies a few times a year.......poor old sod.

MissLadyM · 01/12/2019 22:08

These threads always make me laugh. There's always someone 'in the know' or 'high up' who knows this shit then stays strangely quiet when it turns out to be bollocks.

BertrandRussell · 01/12/2019 22:08

Wow- the Tories really must be worried!

SheOfManyNames · 01/12/2019 22:08

whycantIthinkofadecentusername, you probably either can't or don't want to say, but I'm very curious what your line of work is now!

chomalungma · 01/12/2019 22:08

WhoWants2Know · 01/12/2019 22:09

Don't zoom in on the icon from the WhatsApp screenshot.

Spoiler: it's a dick

MrLeytonstone · 01/12/2019 22:10

I work for a news organisation. If this were true I'd have been hauled in to the office hours ago, even if I was under general anaesthetic.

Celebelly · 01/12/2019 22:10

What kind of jobs do people have where they are informed right away?

Police, national security, hospital staff, etc. Each will have a protocol ready to go for a royal death or serious illness. They need to be informed ASAP to prepare for crowd control, escorting the body if needed, any civil disruption or unrest as a result, and so forth.

ManonBlackbeak · 01/12/2019 22:10

My heart dropped when I read this - no idea I would feel so sad - I'm by no means a monarchist but she's been around a long time and I really like her (of course I don't know her)!

So did mine. Im not even a monarchist but feel really quite disturbed and sad at the thought of her not being around anymore. My Dad is 70, even he can't remember a time before the Queen.

Not sure I believe it this time, also remember that they rehearse her funeral and how her death would be announced often. I know someone who stumbled upon a rehearsal for her funeral whilst coming home from a night out in central London.

Sagradafamiliar · 01/12/2019 22:10

Hark at all the liars on here Grin

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 01/12/2019 22:11

William has just arrived in Kuwait.

He wouldn't have travelled if the rumours were true.

Michaelbaubles · 01/12/2019 22:11

I definitely don’t have one of those jobs. I’m last on the phone tree if there’s a snow day.

ab9u · 01/12/2019 22:11

oh god - I just googled it as heard the same rumour from a friend 40 mins ago. Really hope this isn't true...
