I hope it’s not true with everything that’s going on with Prince Andrew. Anyone else heard this?

I hope not Sad

Sashkin · 02/12/2019 02:44

Oh how strange, my Queen’s guard emojis have all gained female signs! Confused

sashh · 02/12/2019 05:55

It's quite right that she gives Charles a lot more responsibilities, he will have her job sooner or later but I do not see the Queen actually giving up the crown.

I don't think the pln is for her to abdicate, just for PC to take over more / most duties. Things like trooping of the colour, Queenie did it as Princess Elizabeth a couple of times because the king was unwell.

If it does happen it's a good idea, Charles will want to shake things up, Queenie won't let him do too much.

If she has died, and we all found out about it because of Gibbo and Ricey's WhatsApp chat (complete with dick pic) on twitter. And it was then confirmed by so and so's DH on Mumsnet it'll be the most British thing ever.

KatherineJaneway · 02/12/2019 06:10

She is not dead, just a load of rumours started by people who are not important and want to feel important.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 02/12/2019 06:14

I'll bet she's not looking forward to hosting Trump, though VaggieMight.

GreyhoundzRool · 02/12/2019 06:20

I have just had two packets of knickers delivered from online shopping. Thank God I’m prepared if we all need 2 weeks supply !

The BBC has to announce officially first- which is why if and when this does happen overnight- there would be no offical announcement until they officially said it first- it's a tradition thing- complete media blackout until BBC says so. If people were genuinely contravening the official secrets act and sending messages- they will be up for a court martial and most likely loss of job. Seems a pretty daft risk to take and the alleged text exchange should be removed as that would be proof to have that individual fired it was true.

SD1978 · 02/12/2019 06:28

Seen the follow ups to the what's app- had thought it was out on here first. Kinda loving the I'm important so I'd know (but again secrets act and to admit it your be in the shite) to the I am really important and I know it's true (again- official secrets act- you've broken the law) as usually happens with this- morning time will give you the answer!

"at ease boys lol"
:o

FlamingoAndJohn · 02/12/2019 06:42

My husband gives orders over WhatsApp. It's a lot easier than phoning 30 odd men individually.

I really hope he doesn’t. WhatsApp isn’t all that secure. Much better to use Signal.

Squigean · 02/12/2019 06:45

What's the follow-ups?

Only seen the screen shot where Ricey said he'd text a guy in the guards and keep us posted. Which he didn't. Quite rude really Ricey - real bad form.

TheFairyCaravan · 02/12/2019 06:48

It's common for the military to have WhatsApp groups however this one, is very obviously, a piss take. I saw it on a military Facebook page last night where they were joking about this post. There's no way anyone would send a message like that.

WingBingo · 02/12/2019 06:54

@rhubarbcrumbles I just typed in Queen on Twitter. There were tweets last night.

MyOtherProfile · 02/12/2019 06:57

Yeah I heard the rumour. It was about 3 years ago.

Pretty sure it turned out to be false...

StealthPolarBear · 02/12/2019 07:02

Lurking on this thread as I usually do to see if any of the posters who were adamant it was true because of their dh and his vair important job come back to explain what the hell happened. I'm usually disappointed

HRH2020 · 02/12/2019 07:10

Maybe she's faking it so she doesn't have to entertain Donald trump again

SpiderCharlotte · 02/12/2019 07:14

My DH is army and orders are most def given over WhatsApp.

God that's encouraging - nice and secure way for our armed forces to communicate.

In any case, I really hope this isn't true, I love the Queen. I can't imagine her but being on the throne at all!

ememem84 · 02/12/2019 07:14

I don’t believe this is true. But...

What would happen to the election if it was? Would they cancel it?

Think of everything that’d have to change:

National anthem
Money
Stamps
Bottles of hp sauce - don’t the labels say something like “as used by the queen”

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 02/12/2019 07:16

BBC Breakfast presenters in black.

chomalungma · 02/12/2019 07:20

So will all those people who get told when the Queen has died go quiet when the rumours start again - and they know it's actually true...

They've revealed they are the ones who would know.

Mind you, when the Queen does die, they will probably be too busy to go on MN. So their absence will be revealing...

BertrandRussell · 02/12/2019 07:23

This sort of thread always brings out the female equivalent of the incels in band T shirts in their mums’ basements that inhabit Twitter....

IndieTara · 02/12/2019 07:35

Local BBC presenter in black too

Itsrebekahvardysaccount · 02/12/2019 07:46

What’s strange about it? Can’t see anything strange.
