Loved his cookery shows back in the day. I’ve made several very indulgent recipes of his too. Some form favourites to this day.

Rest in Peace Gary Rhodes and thank you for all you did to share your love of cooking with the world.

Very sad I used to like doing his fancy version of British traditional dishes, loved his Bread and Butter Pudding.

It's so difficult to understand, he posted images to social media a few days ago, looking ok, and was in a hotel in Dubai when he passed, not a hospital, and with his family,

This is so sad. He always seemed such a nice guy and it was his books and programmes the first sparked my interest in cooking.

I thought he was married to Fern Britton? Am I mixing him up?

I was so shocked and saddened to hear this. Some of my best memories of my younger days working in the city was eating out at City Rhodes and Rhodes 24. Fantastic chef and great exponent of British cuisine.

HIs family have asked for privacy and haven't released a cause of death so no doubt the tabloids will be all over it tomorrow and raking muck. I hope I'm wrong.

My dh got into cooking because of Gary. He quite liked his cookery programmes so when Gary was doing a book signing nearby, I got him to sign a book for dh and he was lovely.
Dh was chuffed and tried quite a few recipes and impressed family and friends immensely.
