Not far. I did make a bit of a list the other day...,

AliceLittle · 16/11/2019 01:09

Done

1:Attend works Xmas do (next week)
2:Buy and wrap work secret santa.

MovinOnUp · 16/11/2019 01:33

Done all the shopping, Just got to wrap the gifts and post/hand out.

Have made a list of all food/drink and sundries we'll need and now I just need to divide it up and add to the next 5 weeks shopping (Obviously getting the fresh stuff in just before)

Have ordered the tree, Arrives 1st December, Will go up on the 6th.

For activities, We are having a trip to Bath at the start of December and I need to print out boarding passes/bus tickets and look into booking the roman baths.

Other than that I think I'm pretty much organised.

I don't really start thinking about Christmas till Thanksgiving is over.

ffswhatnext · 16/11/2019 02:27

Done.
Cards I don't send to anyone. Others in the house can do as they want.
Presents I only buy for who I want, not because of obligation. I, of course, help younger children lol.

Don't have to think about food this year, getting a takeaway. Previous years have included if you want to eat then get off your arse and do your share.

Calendars and stocking sorted. Picked up little things over the year for them. Inexpensive things I know they will enjoy and use, including free samples. The randomness goes down a treat.

At some point, other family members will mention what they have done and things like activities get talked about between us. Whoever books.

6th whatever decorations we want will go up. Excluding the tree. Gave up with that one a few years ago. The cats think it's their personal toy. And we cannot leave any presents under the tree for too long as they also become the property of cat 🤣

anxioussue · 16/11/2019 02:30

Shopping finished. No activities have been arranged and they won't be.

SunshineInMySprocket · 16/11/2019 05:10

I haven’t had chance to properly think about it yet but have bought a few things as I’ve seen them. I’m off work for two weeks before Christmas this year so I plan to do some lovely things then. Going to ask the children to write their wish list this week and putting the tree up next weekend as I’m away with work for the following week and DH goes away for a week once I’m back.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 16/11/2019 05:35

I have started the shopping and have a list for each person.
I have finished a hamper for my neighbour and have chocolates for a colleague who generously gives me lifts, just need to add a gift card for her.
I have been purchasing some food bits in the supermarket when they have been on offer, biscuits and posh juice.
Activities planned include a meal with friends and visits to NT properties, not much planning needed.
Have bought some cards, will probably need more.
No tree this year as we have a new young cat.

Oblomov19 · 16/11/2019 05:39

None. I only buy for dc, so only 2 to cater for. Easy. Just a posh roast on the day.

MsSquiz · 16/11/2019 05:42

I'm all done - cards written & gifts wrapped! We also have my 3 nephews and nieces birthdays in December (and they're sorted too)

No activities planned other than a wander round the city centre to have a browse of the Christmas market, see the lights and Fenwick's Window, but that's because we are awaiting the arrival of our first DC (due date's 19th December - just hoping she's here before Christmas Day!)

thaegumathteth · 16/11/2019 05:48

Presents wise I'm almost done apart from stockings and a main present for dh. Oh and the dog!

Activities wise we are going to see a theatre show and go to the cinema I think that's it? Well attend the school fair and MiL wants to go to the panto with us...

Mumdiva99 · 16/11/2019 05:53

I have two kids with December birthdays, so I do find I need to be a little organised. I have planned one birthday trip out, sorted birthday presents for the 2. Got most the Christmas presents for the 3 kids, booked a twixmas break, got panto tickets, booked an Xmas shopping slot, got myself some Xmas gin, booked and paid for an Xmas wreath.....I'm always rubbish at tidying, cleaning and wrapping.

MrsJonesAndMe · 16/11/2019 06:40

I have sorted panto tickets and advent calendars. There is also a tub of chocolates and box of biscuits upstairs in the wardrobe from when they came into the store on offer.

Just 2 DC and a DH to buy for and staying home this year, so don't feel that I need to do lots...now if I could just win the lottery please? Wink

StylishMummy · 16/11/2019 07:11

Done!

All gifts bought
All activities booked and paid for
Xmas eve party planned
Xmas day dinner planned with pre-prep complete
Decs go up 1 December
Christmas films planned
Christmas clothes and PJs washed and ready

Only need to do wrapping and actually soak up the loveliness!

Kraggle · 16/11/2019 07:20

I’ve bought most of the kids presents and stocking presents, booked the Santa’s grotto and dd is going to the panto with a friend. Oh and I booked my Christmas delivery slot for the Monday evening before Christmas and I’m off on Tuesday so can pick up any missing bits with dd in tow.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 16/11/2019 07:25

Shopping mostly done, 2 little bits to do.

Wrapped the stocking presents, need to do all the others.

December activities were booked in September!

Cards half written. Will post early Dec.

Xmas menu agreed with the family and Ocado delivery slot booked.

wendz86 · 16/11/2019 07:32

Not as far as I’d like . Got a couple bits for stockings/ Christmas Eve bags and a couple of presents . Waiting for my family to tell me what they want .
Haven’t booked Father Christmas yet , might do that today . My friend is kindly getting us panto tickets so need to sort that also .

Goawayquickly · 16/11/2019 07:33

I haven’t given it a thought yet. I’m normally very organised but I can’t get going this year at all.

I might make a start today.

ForalltheSaints · 16/11/2019 07:50

I know where I will be each day, as do other members of the family. No other preparations.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/11/2019 07:50

I've bought a few presents and done some mince pie taste testing.

Pascha · 16/11/2019 07:54

I've ordered one thing for ds1. That's it I think. I'll do the present shop in one go online in a couple of weeks most likely.

I'm not stocking up on food this year, just a couple of treats eaten each week in December and some decent whiskey. Fresh food as needed.

Nothing we want isn't available within a day's order.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 16/11/2019 07:54

Half-booked my team's Xmas meal.

Er.........

Blush

I mean, it's not till next month, right?

hazeyjane · 16/11/2019 07:55

This far

I have listened to some Buble this morning though, and starting feel a vague sense of dread, so I'm getting there....

56Marshmallow · 16/11/2019 08:14

All the kids' shopping has been done. Done a fair chunk of other half's so just a couple of pressies for friends. All activities booked and paid for. 2 weeks off work all booked.

Will worry about the food nearer the time. Getting it all from Aldi this year so just need to put dates in on when it comes out in the shop.

Not buying for teachers this year, can't afford it. Will buy a little something for kids voluntary swimming teachers.

Bluewavescrashing · 16/11/2019 08:18

Shopping done
Mostly wrapped
Activities booked
