We have been invited to friends for Christmas Day. Just need my Grinch like partner to agree then I can make my food shopping list ! No cards written yet though I have received one already!

Blimey, some of you are scarily organised Shock

I have one DD almost sorted out. She kindly dropped a very broad hint about what she wanted. I found something I hope she will love on Etsy, vendor doesn't accept returns ordered it, and it arrived today.

As for the rest of them? LIke hazeyjane, I am starting to feel a vague sense of dread Smile, which I have assuaged by raiding Aldi's German Christmas chocolate section.

Essentially, gifts for one DC out of five, nothing for my mum and sister, and a big stash of chocolate Santas.

My excuse is that I have Thanksgiving to get past before I can really put my ears back for the final Christmas stretch.

Ronnie27 · 16/11/2019 08:41

Kids sorted, dad sorted, family weekend break sorted. I’ve bought one thing for dh but not started anything else.

Fucket · 16/11/2019 08:47

Visit to FC booked
Xmas presents safely hidden
Xmas day lunch booked and paid for
Xmas eve family quiz/games evening planned, bagged and ready to go.
Advent calendars sorted
Dh has sorted Xmas snacks

I just need to do teacher gifts. Thinking just doing home made cards and a small chocolate to go inside. Thinking I might buy a big Tin of roses for school office, and b/a club staff as they put up with my children and their craziness a lot.

The gp surgery staff will get a tin also they been super good to us this year, they now know who we are soon as I open the door!

We don’t do Xmas cards anymore.

Happyspud · 16/11/2019 08:48

Nothing done except Panto booked.

You guys know it’s mid November right😂

DelurkingAJ · 16/11/2019 08:52

About half way. Panto booked and none of the other activities need booking. Presents underway. Cards are only just started but must crack on as are mainly overseas.

elQuintoConyo · 16/11/2019 08:52

Work do is booked.
Handful of gifts bought for DS, have a list to work through, also having a December birthday is rather a pain in the tits.
Bought DH one thing, have a list of two others.
Got to start sewing gifts for dad, stepmum, best friend (easy to do but I need to buy the fabric and then actually start cutting a fiddling with zips, I hare zips).
I've made a Christmas card list (15, mostly family, mostly abroad) and I have the design in my head, will make them this weekend (they also require sewing Grin )
I've booked flights to the UK for Christmas, dad has booked panto tickets.
I need to locate the advent calendar and stock up on chocolates to fill it.

I put Christmas music on last weekend while we did a big clean and tidy up, made me feel all warm and fuzzy for Christmas.

hazeyjane · 16/11/2019 09:07

Inspired by this thread I decided today would be the day we got into our Christmas groove...
We decided we'd all go out and make a start on present shopping, write lists, buy some xmassy food.....

Then ds threw up.

hazeyjane · 16/11/2019 09:10

....oh one Xmas tradition that has started is, dh has started painting and decorating, which will probably be completed at midnight on Xmas Eve.

IdblowJonSnow · 16/11/2019 09:19

Erm, nothing! Bought myself a beauty calendar- does that count? Blush

Horsemad · 16/11/2019 09:21

This thread is making me feel panicky!!!

Passthecake30 · 16/11/2019 09:27

I've done the easy presents and left them at respective houses (envelopes with money in for 8 preteens/teenagers).
Got all the difficult shopping left.
Brought lots of twiglets and chocolate oranges and have eaten them all. Blush
Also brought lots of baileys and wine. Have managed not to drink of all that yet

Exp1etiveDeLighted · 16/11/2019 09:32

Bought a couple of presents and advent calendars, ordered turkey and veg for delivery on Christmas Eve and booked a couple of outings. Bought the wine this morning with double-up Nectar points. Everything else can wait a bit.

listsandbudgets · 16/11/2019 09:35

Nearly nothing but will be trying to slot making the Christmas cake into this weekend which already looks horribly busy (I normally do it in September where did the time go this year?)

Otherwise nothing, not one stocking filler, not one big gift, not one packet of biscuits...

On the bright side at least I've saved some money towards it all so taht sort of counts as arrangements

BearSoFair · 16/11/2019 09:36

Pretty much done with gifts, little bit to go for DS2 and still need to buy for my parents (I know what I'm getting, just haven't done it yet) but minimal planning for anything else so far!

fishcalledbob · 16/11/2019 09:38

Cake made
Only in-laws to buy for.
Needs all wrapping. Only sending cards to the people who send me on.
Food I will get 22nd dec when I get paid. But list done.
No activities booked but finding drunken adult games to play Xmas day evening
Got daughters 22nd and partners bday as well the week before. All sorted.

troppibambini · 16/11/2019 09:40

Wow some amazingly organised people here!

I've not done much. A few food bits from ALDI, activities booked but one presents bought yet.

troppibambini · 16/11/2019 09:40

*no

PrincessHoneysuckle · 16/11/2019 09:41

All done apart from dh present Smile

fishcalledbob · 16/11/2019 09:42

Introducing my mother to cards against humanity . The most funniest un pc game I have ever played.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 16/11/2019 09:44

I, too, have written lists & procrastinated a lot Grin

Parttimers · 16/11/2019 09:44

Dc main gifts bought (only 2 though)
One family night away and two activities booked for that. And also two nights out and babysitter sorted. Need to get shopping 😬

chemenger · 16/11/2019 09:44

Thinking about ordering a turkey is as far as I’ve got. I never start until December. I will make the cake soon.
