'Boring' plain food that's actually really good

Doing the supermarket shop the other week, saw a huge display of cornflakes and immediately really fancied some. Have really been enjoying them as a snack (not filling enough for breakfast!) with creamy oat milk.

Plain bread and butter can also be delicious. Must be salted butter though.

What other really 'boring' foods can you not get enough of?

Spaghetti, tossed in butter, grated cheese, under the grill until brown.

Buttered scone

Egg and chips

Semolina pudding!

Toast and marmalade
Bran flakes

Macaroni cheese

Vegemite on toast

Peanut butter in celery sticks.

Those bitesized shredded wheats....everytime I have them I feel so boring and grown-up but they're really tasty!

A grilled cheese and ham sandwich, with a dash of Lea and Perrins as the cheese melts. Serve alongside Heinz tomato soup.

A banana sandwich on white bread with salted butter. Always has been and always will be my favourite sarnie.

Buttered toast. Butter must be salted.

Hot buttered toast is my favourite thing in the world.

Pasta with butter, grated cheese and loads of salt and pepper is my favourite meal. DP always laughs as if he’s treating me to a nice evening and asks what posh meal I’d like cooking I always ask for that

A big bowl of shreddies with ice cold milk sprinkled with brown sugar, wait a couple of minutes before eating so the shreddies soak up the milk, cereal heaven!
