What was your salary when you were under 25 (what job were you doing?) and what do you do now?

motortroll · 12/11/2019 20:44

Aged 21 first job after uni 1999 £11,000 rose to £14,000 after a year

2001-2003 a few temp jobs averaging £15-16,000 equivalent yearly wage.

2003 first teaching job £21000 as I had recruitment pints on my salary.

2019 part time teaching on upper pay scale 3. Current salary is £23,000 (pt) FTE would be around £37000?

Obv salary limited by chosen career. I could earn more but I don't want the extra work!!

As of January I will be earning £0 as I'm leaving!!!

When I turned 16, I began working for a chemist earning £3.30 an hour. Later that year, I began working for More Than Insurance on an evening in a call centre, around college and university. I earned around £1500 a month, occasionally more with bonuses. I'm now Head of English in a school and my FTE salary is £45,000 but I actually earn about £35,000 due to dropping down to 4 days a week.
