What was your salary when you were under 25 (what job were you doing?) and what do you do now?

This Q us bonkers, because people who are 26 will give totally different answers to those who are 66!

My take home pay aged 22, as a teacher, was £390 per month.

I am still a teacher taking home £2330.

£70k+ in consulting. Now derisory.

At 24 on £22k as a manager in the civil service, the world was my oyster.
Now 52, on £12k as a part time support worker, can barely afford a plate of cockles.
Life has been a weird and winding road for me.

21 (2005): Retail Manager - £16.5K
25 (2009): Student/Barmaid - NMW
35 (Now): NHS Admin - £17.5K

I don't think I've done very well 😩

First job out of university at 23 (went travelling for a year after graduating) - receptionist at a school - £12k
Did a MSc then at 25 got a job as a consultant - £18k
18 months doing that I got a job as an in house specialist at a major infrastructure company, was 27 - £30k
Several promotions later I am 38 and on £68k plus a few perks that take it to around £80k

At 24 - 18k as a retail manager
At 32 changed my career to health care so back to 21k from 33k
Now health care consultant >80k

£3,600 pa as a nurse before tax. Seems low but I think that's right. 1974.

22k pretax as a teacher
Nearly triple that now as a teacher

First teaching job at 21 and I started at £21k I am now 35 and on €40k and I had a 6 year break in between)

It was £400 per month after tax when I first came to London in 1992. It's now around £4300 a month after tax.

When I was 23 I reached £20k briefly (started on £14k when I was 22), and then took a pay cut to move to a much better organisation (started there at 24 on £17.5k).

I'm 31 now and am on £37k.

First proper full time "career" job at 22 was 21.5K. Now 40 and 90K. I'm in HR.

21-25 labour ward clerk £17.5k per year

Now 38 full time carer of child with additional needs £60ish per week carers allowance

21 = £13,000 at a call centre

28 = currently earning £32,500 as a manager in a call centre. No degree.

21: £23500 on grad scheme
40: £40k (just over) as teacher.

Hmm. It's not brilliant

My first full time job was as a paralegal on 14k at 22
Then my earnings went down while I completed my training
My first qualified lawyer job was at 26. I was on 60k. I felt like I had won the lottery.
I was on 100k by 30.
I'm now in my 40s and a partner (and not disclosing my income here)

9k as an admin assistant in 1998. About 80k now.

It's about the same ( but in my mid 20's I worked full time and now work term time and part time).

That question has made my brain go...WTF? Much less. Im 52. Gone back to work after 12 years sahm and taking a kick up the wallet frankly.
In the intervening years a few health problems have arisen and all of it is impacting my ability to work. I feel lucky to even have the tiny job I have.

Telesales at age 18 ( 35 yrs ago ) salary was £6k
Recruitment Manager at age 26 salary was £13k
Ops Manager at age 36 salary was £28k
Holiday Rep age 39 salary was £5k
Now 53 and a PA salary has never got higher than age 36

Admin assistant £7,800 2003 ish? 18 yrs
Office Manager £27,000 now - 34 yrs

Retail grad on £18k starting salary. 3 times that now FTE.

21: £18k - office manager
Now: £50k - business development
