We're ready, its dark enough to need the light on in the living room - come on people! I'm sure they started coming earlier than this last year, although it wasn't half term last year.

We had lots and ran out of sweets, it's our first Halloween in this house and village so I know next year to buy more sweets!! Happy Halloween 🦇

We had hardly any little ones which were a bit sad. Everyone we had dressed up and all very very polite apart from one child. A few more than last year and this year but we tempted them in with decorations.

Took the pumpkin in at 7pm. I think we had about 40 trick or treaters. A couple of greedy ones though who took handfuls of 'funsize' chocolate bars. One was a girl with her mum and the mum didn't say anything, another was a boy and after he'd grabbed a handful, the dad said 'only one!' but it was too late.
I also had a delightful girl who after taking something then complained to her mum that she kept getting the same chocolate bar at every house. I just kept my mouth shut. Somehow.

Well I got home from work at 5:00. By 5:30 I'd had one knock on the door, which I missed as I was in the bathroom, so my car was egged Angry The first proper, nice little trick or treaters told me about the egg on my car, and promised they'd tell off any big kids with eggs for me.

Sleepysquirrelin · 31/10/2019 20:21

After a slow start we had about 30 kids. Pulled everything in about 7ish.

Lauren83 · 31/10/2019 20:21

We had about 50 here, started at 5pm and last one was around 7pm, was giving them until 8pm but it went quiet earlier than last year

FortunaMajor · 31/10/2019 20:27

I started at 5 and stopped at half 7 this year. I usually go on to half 8. We only get about 20 kids each year but they have all been super polite.

I get the little bags of Haribo and hand them out rather than allowing a free for all.

I've just seen on facebook that a mate has been handing out sprouts wrapped in tin foil to teens chancing their arm with no costumes. I'm crying 😂😂😂

TricklBOO · 31/10/2019 20:36

We've had about 40-50 callers. All unfailingly polite - only took one sweet until we told them they could take more. Oldest was about 10 or 11. Cutest was a tiny girl dressed as a little devil who was about three. Parents came round with all of them.

Chilledout11 · 31/10/2019 20:50

We had one set - we live in a rural area and were away last year and new to the area so I presumed we would have a few more.

AdalindMeisner · 31/10/2019 23:27

@TheBigFatMermaid, that was really sweet of you (excuse the pun! 😂). My youngest is like that little boy, she really wants to take part but struggles so much. She loves giving the sweets out though when people came door!

TheBigFatMermaid · 01/11/2019 19:17

27AdalindMeisner, bless! The lad peered at me through the fence, I asked if he could manage a wave at me. He did it. I was so chuffed he managed interaction with a stranger, he deserved loads of sweets.
