When will the Trick or Treaters start coming?

We're ready, its dark enough to need the light on in the living room - come on people! I'm sure they started coming earlier than this last year, although it wasn't half term last year.

Awww my kids have just come back with so much stuff! They’ve never been out trick or treating before and it’s so so lovely to see how happy and excited they are.

whatohwhattodo · 31/10/2019 19:03

Not many tonight here. And not as many houses as usual decorated in our road.

Paperdove87 · 31/10/2019 19:04

We've had a steady trickle. Still waiting for the pre-arranged to arrive. I love it-don't have kids of my own yet so living vicariously through other people's' littleuns!

We've had about 8 groups (with up to 8 children in them) so far but rarely get any after 7pm so hopefully that's it and there's quite a few sweets left for me

FredaFrogspawn · 31/10/2019 19:05

Ours are so polite - taking one sweet (we went to an old fashioned sweet shop and bought a heap of individually wrapped toffees/ fruit sherbet type sweets.)

Haha! Literally as I was writing this the door went and a little girl looked at the sweets and said, ‘Do I have to have one?’

We have had lots this year! It's a dry and mild evening here though which I expect makes a difference. Lots of lovely younger children all dressed up and a few teenagers in great costumes and then just one or two teenagers who hadn't bothered at all.

We also went out to a few nearby roads and it was such a lovely friendly atmosphere. The "only go to decorated houses" gives it a really positive feel I think.

LannisterLion1 · 31/10/2019 19:13

We had some cute ones, maybe preschool age. Couple of older kids, one was so rude and asked if we had any money instead!

nmc99 · 31/10/2019 19:16

Much quieter than usual this year

hopeishere · 31/10/2019 19:19

We usually have hordes! Only a few so far but first bowl of treats is gone! DS1 is away out now!

Do you hand out or let them grab though??

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 31/10/2019 19:19

Started at 6-ish here as usual. Still very busy. I don't envy the parents out with little ones it's freezing here!

MurderOfGoths · 31/10/2019 19:19

We've been much busier than usual, normally I have loads of sweets left. We ran out completely tonight. Most kids have been lovely - probably helps that quite a few were my kids classmates.

Flyingsouthwiththeswallows · 31/10/2019 19:23

Well my 40 bars / packs chocolate went in three visits.

I didn’t buy more because I was scared of just being left with them (no self control)

Will know better next year and buy a LOT more !!

ohtheholidays · 31/10/2019 19:24

We've had about 50 so far,our first one's(a group of 5)came at just before 5 o clock.

Foslady · 31/10/2019 19:27

100 glow sticks and a shedload of sweets and a great night so far!!!

PunKinMoon · 31/10/2019 19:31

Only 2 so far. One was an uncostumed teen who at least had the good grace to hide and jump out with a 'BOO' when we opened the door!

xraytangocharlie · 31/10/2019 19:35

So far we've had..... ...... 0

I seem to have become a Hallowe'en hot spot for the entire under 11 Polish population of my part of town. They've all waited until Dad gets home from work (I've been home since 4.30pm) - nothing until quarter to seven and I'm down to half a Tupperware box of assorted Haribo and Chupa Chups.

I'll get some more just in case for tomorrow and Saturday night.

It means I can leave the decorations up for DP's birthday that way, too. Win-Win!

TheBigFatMermaid · 31/10/2019 19:37

I think we've had around 140. Quieter than some years. Still lovely though and the majority were polite and delightful!

One mum and autistic boy where he wouldn't come beyond my garden gate, so I popped extras in his bucket, thinking not all will be understanding.

The front of my house is decorated to the hilt, so there's no mistaking that we love it!

QueenWhatevs · 31/10/2019 19:43

We gave out our last treats just after 7 (although I have an unopened box). Think we did about 80ish in the end. Now bedtime. Happy Halloween everyone.

beanaseireann · 31/10/2019 19:43

We've had about 30.
The little ones are so reticent - the bigger boys push in front.

ThisThat · 31/10/2019 19:45

We've had none... zero... nada!! Door decorated, lights on, and 2 giant bowls of chocolate and sweets- still completely full. Well I guess I know what me and DH are having for dinner Grin

Examssuck · 31/10/2019 19:46

1!!!!

TeenPlusTwenties · 31/10/2019 19:59

A disappointing 30, in the past we have had 60-80.
But teen DD had fun handing out the sweets.

Villanellebelle · 31/10/2019 20:00

Steady stream from 5.15 till now at 8pm. Though quieter than last year. Lots of sweets left over.

Times10 · 31/10/2019 20:09

We’ve just run out, but I think most houses have taken their pumpkins in too by now.
