When will the Trick or Treaters start coming?

We're ready, its dark enough to need the light on in the living room - come on people! I'm sure they started coming earlier than this last year, although it wasn't half term last year.

None till just before 6, now it’s pretty non-stop. I’ve just had a packet of Parma violets as no one else will want them.

ButterflyBitch · 31/10/2019 18:21

No one’s come to our house. I have a little witch all dressed and face painted and a bucket of treats to give out and no one. Gates open and a pumpkin is sat there.
It is raining though.
Feel sorry for her as she was so excited.

HavelockVetinari · 31/10/2019 18:21

We've had none yet despite hugely decorated house Haloween Sad

Mind you, last year they came round after 7, generally by car because we're quite far from most of the houses with small DC.

More teens without costumes. I said no but the toddler handed them mini Mars bars regardless. Traitor.

They started at about half past 5 here. It'll go on til about 8 and then it's pretty much finished.

Bunnybigears · 31/10/2019 18:29

I have resorted to advertising on a local Facebook group that we have sweets and am excited child waiting to give them out and still no one has been!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 31/10/2019 18:30

We did have what I feel was a pretty cheeky mum. Mum left the kids in a pushchair with another mum at the end of the drive and came to the door to collect, no costume. DH handed them over but I'm not sure I would have. They were old enough to be walking and our drive is flat.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 31/10/2019 18:31

Never, here middle of nowhere up a big fucking hill

WhenYouCantRunYouCrawl · 31/10/2019 18:32

We've had hardly any. Last year we ran out. And we're not on half term in our area.

Examssuck · 31/10/2019 18:37

Had my first one and he grabbed so many sweets out of my bowl Shock

hotdogwoof · 31/10/2019 18:40

Not a single person at my door this evening but it's still early I suppose

QueenWhatevs · 31/10/2019 18:41

@Examssuck these are the people that grow up to be Cheeky Fuckers

We had a steady stream about from 5 to 6 and ran out of sweets (didn't buy masses as we had hardly any last year). Took pumpkin in but still getting knockers. Dd2(4) is upset we ran out as she was enjoying answering the door (she doesn't like going trick or treating herself).

NoSquirrels · 31/10/2019 18:43

Well, had another couple of groups of twos and threes, but it’s definitely quiet. It is half term here, so guess people have made bigger plans? And the weather is really dreich.

NannyPear · 31/10/2019 18:46

Not had a single one. Decided to put the baby to bed and I can hear crowds gathering in the streets! I genuinely thought 5-6pm would have been busier but I guess by the time people get home from work, dinner etc it's later. They better not knock now that I've turned the lights off and put down the blinds...

Examssuck · 31/10/2019 18:46

@QueenWhatevs I know! His mum just laughed. If that was mine they’d have been made to put it back Grin

SisterSistine · 31/10/2019 18:50

Had three tiny groups here. Although the last two one tried to take the entire bucket and got told off by his mate! I did promise the kids we could eat the leftovers in order to get me out of having to take them out.

SpiderCharlotte · 31/10/2019 18:52

I've done what I said I'd never do and put a massive pumpkin bowl full of sweets on the doorstep beside the pumpkins. Our doorbell isn't working and I never hear the door so it was either that or nothing. They're normally very polite little kids who come with their parents so hopefully a couple of 15 year olds won't come along and snaffle the lot. 🤣🎃

Batshittery · 31/10/2019 18:54

We have had about a hundred. I'm going to blow out the pumpkin as I'm sick of getting up to answer the door now plus, there won't be any left for me Halloween Grin

W0rriedMum · 31/10/2019 18:59

We've now been cleaned out! Amazing how they come in droves!!

NoSquirrels · 31/10/2019 18:59

Apparently our house is “really scary” ... 2 lots of girls have told me! So maybe we’ve put off all the littles Halloween Confused

aweedropofsancerre · 31/10/2019 18:59

Started at 530. Most kids have been pretty good at taking one sweet but we have had hundreds turn up this year. We only have around 7 DC in the street so think parents are driving to popular streets!

FoldenHoard · 31/10/2019 19:00

Had my first one and he grabbed so many sweets out of my bowl

My large bowl was pretty much emptied on the 3rd snatch and grab last year, dd has been under strict instruction to hand them out herself this year 😬
