As title says.
In our house if thermostat drops to 15C DC will tell me that it's Arctic and want the heating on.
15 isn't that cold is it?!

Well I want my house at room temp when I’m in it - which isn’t 16 degrees. About 18 degrees is good, a bit higher when I’m planning to have a shower and don’t want to be freezing when I get out.

Besides, when it’s constantly cold a lot of houses get damp and mouldy. I think it’s also a cleanliness thing to have your house at a sensible temperature.

DH and I just agreed that it will be 19.5 when he has to get out of bed for work. Them since i work from home in an empty house, I can drop it down as low as I want. We bought a programmable thermostat I can control from my phone. It makes things so much easier. We can even cool or warm the house when we know we are on our way home.

I'm working at home today and the heating has been off. It's 15 degrees in here now and it really isn't that bad. I wouldn't have checked the temperature if I hadn't seen this thread.

18C is borderline cardigan temperature to me. Warm summer days are mid 20's, hot is top 20's to 30's. I have a timer on our heating so I don't know what temperature it is mostly but I switch it on if it's cold. Today it's been on a lot because we're all home and the weather is cold and miserable.

I am the heating police in our house. I won't let anyone put it on unless it's below 15. The heating is set to 18 which is definitely warm enough. If the heating has been on, it has to go off by 4pm or the house is too hot to sleep in. I love sleeping in a freezing cold room and have my bedroom window open all year round. My kids never seem to feel the cold and will happy walk around in a pair of pants/knickers, even when it's freezing!
