Ok, was musing earlier on a) how long I've been posting on here and b) my middle aged spread Hmmand I remembered contributing to the boot camp threads of ahem twelve or so years ago.

Thought it was time to dust them off....

The rules:

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

So. I found it beneficial in my thirties, will see if the rules hold up in my forties. Anyone else in?

Congrats. I’ve had a rough few weeks but I’ve managed to consistently track my food intake and walk roughly 2 miles a day which is significantly more than I’ve done in a long time. I’m looking into local activity groups and considering joining a gym and getting a personal trainer.

I've had a rotten cold and haven't been out to run since Sunday. Trying to keep up the skincare etc.

Thecrown3 · 22/11/2019 03:56

I’m here Grin
Had an assault on Monday at work, been off rest of week , I’ve done no exercise but drank water, moisturised and just mentally discharged.
I’ve got a lot going on in my family at present so just being kind to myself.

I’ve broken up with my partner, so I have been in a real dump. I find it hard to get going again, I just want to curl up under a duvet. But exercise makes me feel so much better, it’s the getting up and running that’s the problem at the moment.
confused, well done for keeping at it! Do you work better in a group/class, or on your own? I’m rubbish on my own, can’t be bothered and give up Classes are fab for it!
delighted, there is a lot going around, and it’s really awful this year :(. I swear by day and night nurse. Hope you feel better soon!
thecrown, god, are you ok? Have you had a debrief? I sometimes work with inmates, but I keep the officers nearby, even though I request the cuffs off. But when it strikes you, it really does, even if you’re aware there might be a chance... big hugs.
It’s Friday, my rest day from exercise. It’s cheesy chips and a pint of Guinness night 😂

I've had a crap few days of sleep due to peri-menopause.

But today is my birthday and a non-work day. I'm going for a walk with a friend. I'll have a swim after that.

SeaSidePebbles · 23/11/2019 14:44

Happy birthday Minnie, hope it’s been a good one!
I did a parkrun this morning, got body pump tomorrow morning, followed by a swim and sauna.
I only had half a pint of Guinness last night, feeling quite please about that, it had a real potential to turn into a messy session.
