Meet my foster kitty

This is my foster kitty. Her owners are moving and won’t take her with them or find suitable place that accepts animals.

They have also let her have three litters of kittens by the age of two and it looks like she is having a fourth.

So she has come to live with me, the three chips children and sidecat. She’s off to the vets on Monday to confirm if she is or not. If she is she will be spayed as soon as recommended after kittens. If not she will be spayed ASAP.

After initial grumps from SideCat at the very indecency of us bringing another cat into the house, SideGirlCat has cosied up on middle chips bed and gone to sleep having been lovingly tucked in

Hi all

Fosterkitty went to be checked today. She is underweight but ran through what we are feeding and they said that was good.

We’ve also been told that she has about a week to go which is good as it gives us a bit longer to feed her up

One lovely moment was I was fussing her and stroking her belly and when I gently rested my hand I felt a kitten squirm ❤️

Today as well my sil and I worked out that since she got pregnant with her first litter, she has only had three months on which she hasn’t been pregnant or feeding a litter. Her last litter went to new homes only a couple of months ago 😡

She is so beautiful, I have a massive soft spot for tuxedoes as I’ve got 2 of my own.
Thank you for caring for her, you now have 2 cats!!

I seem to have a thing for rescuing cats

SideCat was the runt of the litter. I had him because the people who accidently bred him (more feckless people 🙄) were going to get rid of him (and by that I don’t mean to a shelter) as they though it was the kindest thing because he was so small and pure black

He is one of the biggest softies you have ever know. He is also massive as the vets think his dad was a main coon so he is huge!

Uncle sidecat may be in for a bit of a shock when he sees/hears the kittens! Grin

HellonHeels · 28/10/2019 20:28

Beautiful kitties! Mama cat is so petite and young what a sad start she's had. So wonderful she is safe with you now hope she's feeding herself up nicely.

sideorderofchips · 28/10/2019 21:34

She is definitely feeding herself up. I’m not sure what uncle SideCat will make of these kittens when they want to play with him

Fostercat is a tiny little dot compared to him but apparently her growth has been somewhat stunted due to her having been bred so soon and so much.

But a week gives me another week to get the right stuff into her to give her and the kittens the best chance

One of our nursing mums had our biggest boy cat pinned up against the wall with the most Godawful screeching outside her kitten nursery because he dared to loiter on the landing outside - the kittens were probably at the weaning stage and we used to put a board across the door so the kittens couldn't escape, but she could go for an explore of the rest of the house as they start to get a bit stir crazy and fed up of the kittens at about 6 weeks old.

sideorderofchips · 31/10/2019 16:05

Well she’s still pregnant but like most hormonal mammals is currently alternating between needing a hug and wanting to savage us.

The kittens are moving well and she’s letting me stroke her belly and is purring.

Several boxes have been prepared and when we go out she is being kept very separate from
SideCat

But there is less growling and hissing so we are getting there

Our neutered Uncle Sidecat thought he was the father, and dutifully supplied rabbits to mother and kittens for weeks.

The mum took strips out of an Old English Sheepdog though.

Waves to sideorder from the Christmas Threads .

Ooh bless her she is so teeny you could barely credit she's a week off due , she looks like she's got a cardigan on but could only fasten one button Grin

Our first cat (back in 1990) was 2yo and on her 4th batch before she went to rescue . She was neutered by the rescue and the pregnancy terminated but even the vet was surprised she was so advanced (about halfway) . She was a tiny girl.
We had her till she was 17yo so she lived a good , spoiled life.

And yes, it looks like you have a new cat Wink

PurpleDaisies · 31/10/2019 16:38

What a gorgeous cat.

Not place marking for kittens (much).

InglouriousBasterd · 31/10/2019 16:47

sideorderofchips · 31/10/2019 17:43

Well tonight Fosterkitty has taken herself into the birthing box I made and half put under my bed. She hisses at people walking past the house so she’s back in my room at the moment with the tv on for company as it stresses her out. Uncle SideCat is still sleeping in my yarn box at the moment not giving a fuck

Sidecat is such a stunning panther. LOVE a black cat.

Kittykat93 · 31/10/2019 18:09

Oh I'm definitely watching this for the kittens picture! Lovely cats.

sideorderofchips · 31/10/2019 18:14

@Wolfiefan he is isn’t helping? He is part main coon and pure black and utterly massive (6kg!)

He used to be a feline blood donor as well as with his size he could so he has saved two cats lives as well ❤️

sideorderofchips · 31/10/2019 18:14
