Meet my foster kitty

This is my foster kitty. Her owners are moving and won’t take her with them or find suitable place that accepts animals.

They have also let her have three litters of kittens by the age of two and it looks like she is having a fourth.

So she has come to live with me, the three chips children and sidecat. She’s off to the vets on Monday to confirm if she is or not. If she is she will be spayed as soon as recommended after kittens. If not she will be spayed ASAP.

After initial grumps from SideCat at the very indecency of us bringing another cat into the house, SideGirlCat has cosied up on middle chips bed and gone to sleep having been lovingly tucked in

We have had some purring tonight from her. I’ve swapped a blanket she has been sleeping on from mygirls room with a blanket SideCat sleeps on in the lounge (he has many many others) so they are getting a really good scent of each other

Just been up to say goodnight to middlechips and fosterkitty has curled up beside her to go to sleep purring. So we know she’s settling into that room

That’s so sweet, awwwGrin

A neighbour’s neglected cat moved in with us and had five kittens a few days later. Her previous kittens were only three months old, wandering all over looking for food as the owner had made no attempt to find homes for them. I hadn’t known until then that there are still areas where cats are not routinely neutered. We ended up with seven cats!

@hovverry how wonderful you took them in! I think my husband may move out if I try that one however!

OP you are a wonderful person. What beautiful cats Thanks Bear

LadyOfTheCanyon · 24/10/2019 21:00

What a gorgeous girl! I have a very soft spot for Tuxedos. So glad she's got such a wonderful caring family with the Chips clan. My friend fosters dogs and cats and currently has 5 dogs, 2 cats, a rabbit a hamster and two birds. So mind how you go! Grin

My pet —zoo— currently stands at 2 cats, four giant African land snails, god knows many stick insects, a fish and however many spiders leave webs in my house!

We have a lot of meowing tonight but she is purring inbetween. middle and eldest chips came down concerned but we have given her some more food and she’s wolfing that down so must have been hungry. She is very sweet and they adore her

Today she has come out of the girls room for a while. SideCat is in the kitchen with the door shut and FosterKitty is exploring downstairs.

So far we have no growling or howling.

sideorderofchips · 26/10/2019 14:54

So we have opened the doors and they have seen each other. Some growling and hissing from Fosterkitty but SideCat just watched her.

SideCat is asleep in a box he probably shouldn’t be in and fostercat is upstairs asleep on middlechips bed. But all seems calm for now

So just vets on Monday now to get confirmation about pregnancy and we go from there

She is absolutely gorgeous!

sideorderofchips · 26/10/2019 15:27

She is a beauty. She likes growling at people who walk past our house now

Okay I don’t think we will make the vets.

Her nipples have crusty milk on them, she’s been pacing and howling and has now flopped on my bed and letting me stroke her all over!!

How is she now? Hoping all is well. Xx

sideorderofchips · 27/10/2019 09:01

She’s fine. No babies but her stomach keeps
Changing shape. She settled for longer periods but did keep waking and crying

She’s fine this morning. Woke up to her lying on the floor half staring at me. She seems to adore DH though so that’s always a plus

Glad she is well. Keep us updated! ❤️

sideorderofchips · 27/10/2019 11:39

After a night of up down yowl around we woke to no kittens this morning 🙄

She’s quite content sleeping on the beds at the moment. But I did see movement in her belly last night and watched a little lump come out of her side and then go back in.

Awwwwwwww. Squeeeeeeeeee. Is she having kittens

isseywith4vampirecats · 27/10/2019 17:35

awww love tuxedo cats my two were very nice natured i can see a future post saying failed foster now a permanent fixture

sideorderofchips · 27/10/2019 17:54

I’ll be honest she adores my girls and even my husband gave her fuss and attention

She has spent the day sleeping on my middlechips bed look smug she kept me awake 🙄. I am now 99% sure she has got kittens in there as I can see belly movement when she lies down.

I will endeavour to keep those interested updated but either way I think she has a home of pure love and spoilt ness for the rest of her time as I can’t see my girls giving her up!

OhDeari · 27/10/2019 20:12

looking for an update too

Well done, OP. Our cat came in much the same way. One of our neighbours moved away and left him behind. He lived rough in a bush out my back door for about 3 months before I was able to coax him fully inside. Even with me feeding him on the doorstep 4 times a day, he was so thin. He also has a few old injuries like broken ribs and half his tail missing, that clearly hadn't been seen to by a vet.
When he settled into the house and I took him to the vet to be vaccinated, neutered and chipped, he still only weighed 3.5kg☹️

He's been here a year now, is a healthy 5kg, which the vet reckons is pretty much his ideal weight, and is as soppy and cuddly as a cat ever gets. He is so placid and friendly.

I can't believe the way some people treat their pets.
