What do you still buy that you're convinced no one else still does?

Title may have been a slight exaggeration, but is there anything you continue to purchase ( be it groceries, cleaning products, home bits etc) that is maybe seen as outdated, useless, old fashioned or just generally unliked by the masses , that you continue to buy?

Mine is Fisherman's Friend. I love them but have never found anyone else who still buys them!

Add some Irish cream liqueur into the Camp Coffee Iced Coffee. You'll thank me for it.

Longdistance · 16/10/2019 23:03

Did anyone mention fig rolls? My dds go mad for them.

LittleAndOften · 16/10/2019 23:10

Joke! Satan's own confectionery 🤢

Some things belong in the history books! Grin

PrivateSpidey · 16/10/2019 23:18

totallyradllama · 16/10/2019 23:43

Yes, condensed soup to make tuna pasta bake

Buttybach · 16/10/2019 23:46

Goblin meat pies

fatimashortbread · 16/10/2019 23:50

Yes mushroom ketchup I use it for that umami flavour in a lot of dishes. It's made by the Worcestershire sauce people - they also make anchovy sauce (for cooking)

Katinski · 17/10/2019 00:02

I'm having a late night snack of Toast (made on my eye level grill) with..ta-da!The Gentleman's Relish, otherwise known as Patum Peperium The 1828, Recipe or just plain anchovy paste if you must, accompanied by a glass of port. Were I a man I'd probably be in my Gentleman's Club, being served by an old retainer wearing white gloves - and I'd be complaining about my goutGrin

Katinski · 17/10/2019 00:04

And I've got mushrooom ketchup in my cupboard.

ladybird69 · 17/10/2019 00:07

Home pride curry sauce. That was my first taste of curry. And my mums recipe for Bol was tinned mince tinned mixed veg and a jar of Dolomio sauce! (Might try it again!) pure comfort food

nannieann · 17/10/2019 00:10

Love this thread. Will be searching for pudding rice and Vesta Curry tomorrow.

We use box washing powder, hankies, soda crystals, and bar soap. I use green Fairy soap to handwash. With a bit of soda in the water it works better than Vanish on stains.

Didn't know there were so many Fishermen's Friends fans. I like the aniseed ones best.

Cantstoppiggingout · 17/10/2019 00:53

Heinz Sandwich Spread. Loved it as a child in the 80s, and found it again recently Smile. Still tasty.

I also have in my cupboards:

semolina, suet, dried peas (with the tablets; just used my last pack up on pea and ham soup), tinned rice pudding, Fray Bentos pies, dried pulse/bean soup mixes, etc..

What do you still buy that you're convinced no one else still does?
Cantstoppiggingout · 17/10/2019 01:24

Also, thought of more:
Angel Delight
pop tarts (occasionally)
Guerlain Samsara, which I'm struggling to find now
fig rolls
garibaldi biscuits
tumble dryer sheets
Fry's peppermint cream
walnut whip
Use pearl barley lots
Faggots
Liver
Powder puff with loose dusting powder
Powder compressed onto thin leaves of paper
Wham bar
Birds custard powder
Shake n vac
Tinned corned beef.

I'm sure there's plenty more but I'm knackered.

RhinoskinhaveI · 17/10/2019 01:35

slinkysaluki · 17/10/2019 02:37

Horlicks anyone ?

slinkysaluki · 17/10/2019 02:48

Heinz tinned Spag Bol on toast reminds me of childhood and Ravioli.

Always washing powder here and soap

Proper butter always

historysock · 17/10/2019 04:33

I love fig rolls! I once had a twitter exchange with a seminal indie bands singer that centred around Fig rolls, and it was one of the crowning moments of my life!
