Good God Extinction Rebellion blocking a funeral hearse.

I know where they are coming from but for the love of God you dont block and/or lie under a funeral hearse. FGS think of the relatives and friends of the deceased and how they are feeling.

They have now defaced some war memorials. The majority of these people are just scum, dregs of society who should bugger off.

There’s a video on twitter of them letting an ambulance on blue lights through... only after questioning them and refusing to move aside until they’d ‘proven’ it was a real emergency.

I think it’s important that people realise that although XR may claim they’re “letting emergency services through”; they are still causing delays which could cause serious damage.

Totally agree When a war memorial was vandalised during the 2015 anti Tory protests Twitter was full of it AND there were threads on here where people posted their incredulity.

But now .............radio silence Barely gets a retweet let alone people composing posts about it.

Ditto the NHS. Mention people who are obese and see shitloads of threads and tweets about how it pressurizes the NHS.

This lot do what Dyrne describes..................tumbleweed.

I don’t do SM but in RL most people I know think it is just another protest.

I live in London (the outer bit) but go into Central London regularly.

Protests are just an inconvenience. They don’t actually mean anything beyond those that are taking part.

Every week a different group protesting about something or other.

Oliver people have a right to peaceful protest. Political engagement is a good thing. Its some of XRs methods ive not agreed with not the sentiment.

I was just trying to point out being in Central London regularly there is so many protests that they all merge into one.

Some are quite peaceful and don’t disrupt people.

Some are a PITA

From what I can tell those of us who are in the vicinity of central London regularly are only interested in the disruption it causes.

Yup - extinction last week and this week (half marathon on Sunday), Brexit March this weekend... it’s one thing after another if you live centrally.

Then there are the rallies that turn into ‘hey gang, let’s all go and protest outside the XYZ embassy!’ and you get stuck in traffic for two bloody hours.

They are a bunch of wankers. They have no coherent demands or solutions to offer, it's all about the 'Let's get arrested, we want ATTENTION'. Smug middle-class gits, the lot of them. Many of the people and groups who have been actively working for a better, fairer world for a long time despise and distrust XR for their ignorance, insensitivity, white savourism and excessive self-righteousness.
