What do you do with skid marks that are below the water line? 🤔

Those of you who use a sponge or cloth, what do you do with it after you've dealt with the kid marks?

Brassbedpost · 01/10/2019 01:24

@StoatofDisarray I do the toilet duck clip holder thingy with wadded up loo roll too. Nothing unusual goes down the loo. You wipe off the stain and release the loo roll and flush brilliant Grin

My ex dh used to poo every few days it was a bit of an event. He'd leave the loo so bloody streaked a little squirt of bleach and an extra flush would do nothing! It needed help to leave.

It's the way forward then like someone else said the loo brush stays "clean" and just scrubs a non skid toilet bowl.

This thread just reminded me how happy I am to be getting divorced!! Every aspect of life is better even cleaning the loo. Thanks!

Flush toilet. Spray anti bac.. use toilet paper to remove skid marks, flush toilet.. scrub hands with soap Grin
We had a toilet brush growing up (shudder)
I don’t own one and refuse to have one..

Sjl479 · 01/10/2019 03:29

@longwayoff I recently got a silicone brush; significantly less repulsive than a normal one - has stayed nice and clean so far!

FurrySlipperBoots · 01/10/2019 03:29

@Sjl479

Do you have a link at all please?

NerrSnerr · 01/10/2019 03:54

Spray anti bac.

Why on earth would you need 'anti bac' down the toilet?

BetterEatCheese · 01/10/2019 04:25

I don't get the no toilet brush thing. It just gets cleaned regularly. In this age of pollution and climate emergency, the effects of bleach and disposable products is catastrophic, but people still use them daily. It's things like this that will ruin us all.

Also, has anyone thought about guests? My mother in law doesn't have a toilet brush and when any of us leave skids we don't have access to all these products and end up in a panic in the toilet. It's something we dread

longwayoff · 01/10/2019 05:45

Thank you @HeartvsHead and @Sjl479. I'm going to try one. This is such a chalky area you can see bits of chalk in the tap water so scale is a nuisance. Amazon here I come.

MrsMaryMooFace · 01/10/2019 05:57

😂😂😂

This is my question every time this issue comes up.

The anti-loo-brush brigade don't have friends or ever entertain, because there's no way you can have friends and family through your house, and not allow them the dignity of being able to clean up after themselves.

Phimma · 01/10/2019 06:20

I use the toothbrush of whoever left the skid mark in our loos.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 01/10/2019 06:21

Safari try killrock. Seriously good descaler.

BeneathTheMist · 01/10/2019 06:23

I just use a bit of toilet roll and my hand to remove any. Also bleach once a week. I used to do it daily but live alone so only me to worry about.

redchocolatebutton · 01/10/2019 06:24

do you bleach guys realise that bleach just bleaches the stains?

moanyhole · 01/10/2019 07:08

Redchocolatebutton i often see people say that. It really doesnt . It removes the stain . I used to use bleach but for the environment i use anti bac.

I dont ise a toilet brush because when the kids were toddlers theyd olay with it. Now sadly my doc likes to eat them now I just spray with a solution of vinegar and tea tree and wipe with toilet roll.

OVienna · 01/10/2019 07:20

What about house guests? Should they put rubber gloves on too, for a nice scrub? Or maybe a toilet brush would be appreciated? Or hold it in. Mind boggles.

asteri76 · 01/10/2019 07:26

I use one of these, works quite well..

For those of you that don't use a toilet brush..
sheshootssheimplores · 01/10/2019 07:28

Bleach! (Said in the style of Len Goodman)

BlahBlahBlahh · 01/10/2019 07:28

Surely when people are saying they use toilet roll, surely the toilet roll disintegrates when in water so you are essentially rubbing the skid mark away with your hand, right? Hmm

Namenic · 01/10/2019 07:30

I have a silicone toilet ‘blade’ and ecover toilet cleaner. This works for us. Less hassle than rubber gloves or bristles of toilet brush.

Lexplorer · 01/10/2019 07:31

As someone else just said, toilet paper and use your hand. No biggie. Surely that's common sense if you are visiting friends and there's no bog brush etc. And those cleaning up after their partners wtf? Have they no respect for you? Leaving a shitty toilet for someone else to deal with. Unbelievable

LeveeOHsaNotLeveoSAH · 01/10/2019 07:32

What do you use as alternatives to bleach?

HennyPennyHorror · 01/10/2019 07:33

Blah it's never disintegrated when I use toilet paper! I just wad some up, and give it a scrub.

To be honest, if your shit's clinging to the pan so much that it can't be removed with a quick, firm wipe, you probably need to see a doctor or drastically change your diet!

Drogosnextwife · 01/10/2019 07:34

Bleach. My toilet would stink of urine if I didn't bleach. I have 2 under 3's using it most days, 2 ds's, a dp, me and at the moment my mum is living with us. Also cleaning it once a week, with a toilet brush really would not be enough 🤢 unless you would like to come and see what mess dp and the kids can leave the toilet in.

Drogosnextwife · 01/10/2019 07:36

😂😂🤦‍♀️
