I'm going to start with High Street Kensington. A classic start, if I do say so myself.

OP posts:
ForalltheSaints · 29/10/2019 19:51

I will move to Clapham Junction and no prize will be awarded.

ForalltheSaints · 31/10/2019 19:35

Almost 48 hours have elapsed and so I move to Waterloo using the South Western Railway rule.

WTCT · 31/10/2019 19:44

Well, I’m only a beginner, but I’ll counter that last move by playing the ‘Smith’s least utilised station’ rule and go with... Becontree

MyNightWithMaud · 31/10/2019 22:14

Exeter St David’s

You didn’t expect that, did you?

ForalltheSaints · 01/11/2019 18:05

No one expects Exeter St Davids. I remember the howls at the 1997 tournament when someone played Taunton.

Apparently Crossrail is going to go Reading, so I will pay an early visit, to see if there are any new MC players going to join.

MyNightWithMaud · 01/11/2019 18:17

Reading, Saints? How jolly yet somehow unnerving. That Taunton move was certainly controversial at the time - annex XXIII to the Consolidated Rules (1987 edition) had to be almost entirely rewritten and the Adjutant General was on bedrest for a month. Anyway, on we go to

Oxford

ForalltheSaints · 02/11/2019 11:06

The Chiltern Railways rule takes me to Rickmansworth. A place not seen on an MC game for a while.

MyNightWithMaud · 02/11/2019 13:12

I see what you’re up to, Saints, but I can counter that with

Berkhamsted

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 02/11/2019 13:23

Ah, a double bluff! I'm going to trump that with
Stratford!
I think the 1216 Rules of Disengagement apply in November

ForalltheSaints · 02/11/2019 21:34

Ah but which Stratford. That is unclear given the previous move, so the 1974 convention on unclear moves applies and we return to Berkhamsted to continue. To Kenton where the game of games is sadly not played very often, I hear.

Trustmeimamidwife · 02/11/2019 21:35

Wtf is this game Grin

MyNightWithMaud · 03/11/2019 00:20

Don’t pretend you don’t know, Trustme. We’ve seen your sort before, feigning ignorance and then making a championship-level move.

Farringdon

ForalltheSaints · 03/11/2019 19:12

MyNightWithMaud even if Trustme is not feigning ignorance, we are both aware that the only comprehensive rules were burnt after the contra-temps following the Lyon tournament of 1988. So in general when talking about the rules we must adopt the first rule of a 1999 film with Edward Norton and Brad Pitt, ie. not to talk about them.

A short move to Barbican to see if any classical music is being played this evening there.

ForalltheSaints · 06/11/2019 18:51

Playing the twice in one week but consecutive rule takes me to Kentish Town with the aid of the Thameslink rule.

AgathaMystery · 11/11/2019 15:19

We've been going in circles for weeks. If the Thaneslink rule is in play then we are off to St Albans City.

DadDadDad · 11/11/2019 20:06

Ah well, if it's the Thaneslink you're playing, I'll take a wee hop to Dunsinane. Grin

ForalltheSaints · 11/11/2019 21:14

Back to earth then and so back to Elstree and Borehamwood.

AgathaMystery · 12/11/2019 14:30

Dad - every. Single. Time. OMG my autocorrect is hideous.

AgathaMystery · 12/11/2019 14:32

Utterly fed up of my phone & am going to invoke the 2003 EasyJet Protocol.

Luton.

ForalltheSaints · 12/11/2019 18:11

Alexander Graham Bell may or may not have played the game of games, but even if he had, I doubt he would have played a move to Luton, as he probably had never heard of it unless he loved hats.

A move to Stepney Green changing at Farringdon en route seems for the best.

FromIbizaToTheNorfolkMaud · 16/11/2019 16:37

Dear me. @IrenetheQuaint told me you'd got into a mess but I didn't realise it was as bad as this. We'd best move toot sweet to

Imperial Wharf

FuzzyPuffling · 16/11/2019 17:55

I'm a newbie, but please may I jump in with Fairlop?

ForalltheSaints · 16/11/2019 19:37

Venturing into former Great Eastern Railway stations on a Saturday evening is indeed a bold move. Not usually seen after the clocks go back.

Though I think by moving to Roding Valley we can stay in the area for a while.

RomanMum · 16/11/2019 23:13

No. In a shock move I'm going Heathrow T5... so sue me.

FromIbizaToTheNorfolkMaud · 17/11/2019 00:17

I would never be so vulgar as to sue. Instead I will play an extended bilateral shunt (1947 version for clarity) to

Beckenham Junction
