I went in today for a role I can work alongside my current studies. It was a lovely company and a friendly atmosphere.
The interview went well and I felt pleased with myself. Until a set of employees came into view and made me say something awful.
The woman was opening a gift someone has just given her... Her grin was huge! My would be boss said "Ahh, she does look happy! What a picture".
I said "Yes! She looks like the cat who licked the flaps!"
What I really meant was the cat who got the cream
It came out all wrong. The boss looked a bit stumbled and then patted me on the back to follow the other person who'd interviewed me back to the entrance.
I'm mortified. I've no idea how it came out in such a way. It's horrendous. Since having my DC I've often stumbled on words and used the wrong phrase but normally just in the wrong order.
I could've crawled into a hole and stayed. No chance of that job now, is there?
This happened yesterday late afternoon. They were letting people know Monday.
