I went in today for a role I can work alongside my current studies. It was a lovely company and a friendly atmosphere.

The interview went well and I felt pleased with myself. Until a set of employees came into view and made me say something awful.

The woman was opening a gift someone has just given her... Her grin was huge! My would be boss said "Ahh, she does look happy! What a picture".

I said "Yes! She looks like the cat who licked the flaps!"

What I really meant was the cat who got the cream Blush It came out all wrong. The boss looked a bit stumbled and then patted me on the back to follow the other person who'd interviewed me back to the entrance.

I'm mortified. I've no idea how it came out in such a way. It's horrendous. Since having my DC I've often stumbled on words and used the wrong phrase but normally just in the wrong order.

I could've crawled into a hole and stayed. No chance of that job now, is there?

This happened yesterday late afternoon. They were letting people know Monday.

I didn't get the job Sad

The feedback I got was they felt other candidates were better fitted to the team.

Oh well, onwards and upwards! Or at least elsewhere Thanks

Their loss my love Flowers

You’re still a legend.

Usernamealreadyexists · 23/09/2019 18:02

Oh sorry to hear that. You are a MN legend and have made so many people cry with laughter. Good luck!

T42please · 23/09/2019 18:16

Sorry op. Just remember it's not personal even if it feels like it. Different people fit in in different places

ChikiTIKI · 23/09/2019 18:42

oh im sorry you didn't get it. that's a shame. im sure you will be able to look back on it and laugh eventually. i seem to end up doing one or two "warm up" interviews before finding the right thing and getting offered a job each time. im sure something even better will come along soon xxx
