Questions I have about Hey Duggee

LisaSimpsonsbff · 21/09/2019 19:52

Is he a childminder? If so, I am concerned because his ratios are off, and also he is a dog.
Why are all the children animals apart from one who seems to be a lower-case 'r'?
Is Alexander Armstrong being sarcastic when he says at the end of the episode 'well that was fun, wasn't it Duggee?'
Why do I sometimes end up watching to the end of the episode even though my toddler never does? Also, where do I send off for all the badges I have thus accumulated?

I can't stand hey duggee so no answers here but this made me laugh! Grin

JassyRadlett · 21/09/2019 19:58

I always assumed it was a club like Beavers - the squirrel club.

They’re all animals:

Roly: hippo
Tag: rhino
Norrie: mouse
Betty: octopus
Happy: crocodile (adopted by elephants)

My question is about Enid. Duggee is a dog, all the others are animals but Enid is a pet cat. Which is fucking dark when you think about it.

OMG the 'r' is a crocodile! I honestly couldn't work out what he was supposed to be.

Good point re Enid - and also the chickens?

In this case isn't it weird (and kind of a safeguarding issue) that it's in Duggee's house?

What Jasy said. Love Hey Duggee. I always put it on when I need DS to sit still for a bit - I’m glad he enjoys something so much that I actually quite like watching Grin

JassyRadlett · 21/09/2019 20:04

I think it’s always described as the clubhouse?

A very well appointed clubhouse. Seems Duggee may hole up there between meetings too....

Teachermaths · 21/09/2019 20:05

I have issues with the size and proportion of animals and objects in dugee.

Why is the ostrich taller than the whole building?

On the whole it's definitely one of the better children's programmes.

Grimbles · 21/09/2019 20:05

Dafuq is this shit? Shock

We got some Hey Duggee wall stickers for DS off amazon - all badges included hehe Grin

georgialondon · 21/09/2019 20:06

It's in the clubhouse!

AlbusSeverusMalfoy · 21/09/2019 20:07

I love Hey Duggee.
My favourites are - Mr and Mr Crab
The Spider that screams when its found
And the sarcastic Ant that says 'I don't think so' about some acorns

Overthinking children’s tv programs is a sure path to madness - have you been watching Bing?? No idea what the set up is there...

JassyRadlett · 21/09/2019 20:08

I do love it too. Particularly the Easter eggs for grown ups.

The River Badge is bloody genius.

For similar reasons, the Honey Badge and the Shape Badge.

And the Tadpole Badge when they are all teenagers is brilliant.

georgialondon · 21/09/2019 20:08

I love hey duggee

LisaSimpsonsbff · 21/09/2019 20:09

If it isn't Duggee's house then I don't like the fact that Enid and the chickens live there. I don't think they can be properly cared for.

BelindasGleeTeam · 21/09/2019 20:10

I love the melodramatic artiste mouse.

The tadpole badge had me crying with laughter.

It's wasted on little kids

CheerfulMuddler · 21/09/2019 20:10

It's like the Beavers. My question is why all the Squirrels can talk but Duggee just woofs. And is the whole Duggee hug thing a reference to ... er ... various stereotypes around scoutmasters?

I like Duggee. We always say 'just time for one last thing' whenever we want to give DS warning that we're leaving the playground.

Soubriquet · 21/09/2019 20:11

Hey Dugee is one of my soft spots Blush

My dc don’t watch CBeebies anymore SadSad

JassyRadlett · 21/09/2019 20:11

Mr and Mr Crab

NIGEL?!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 21/09/2019 20:11

There's also one about hairdressing that I only half watched but which seemed to reveal that what I thought was Duggee's ears is just hair? That freaked me out.

ShivD · 21/09/2019 20:12

We watch the stick song all the time when the kids are in bed, it’s the best music video.

Grimbles · 21/09/2019 20:13

That's one of my favourites too Grin

The fashion badge where they are all dressed in the styles of famous fashion people is funny too

Samsamsuperman · 21/09/2019 20:13

I think it's funny he never plans anything. The squirrels show up and he's always engrossed in something on his own like he had no idea they were coming. They ask him what he is doing and they just sort of join in/ fuck it up/ take over and he just goes with the flow.

If he's a childminder he's a terrible one 😂

CheerfulMuddler · 21/09/2019 20:14

My guide troop was in my guide leaders' house. They were two posh sisters who'd lived together all their lives and had this big posh house with big grounds where we used to light camp fires and shit. Our guide hut was in the room over their stables (I think. It wasn't a stables any more.)

Iwrotethissongfor · 21/09/2019 20:15

It is called the clubhouse BUT if you slackers had watched the day off badge (something like that) episode then you’d know it was also Duggee’s home! That is a good episode, we get so much insight into Duggee’s home life and the other characters’ parents. 🤗
