Questions I have about Hey Duggee

Is he a childminder? If so, I am concerned because his ratios are off, and also he is a dog.
Why are all the children animals apart from one who seems to be a lower-case 'r'?
Is Alexander Armstrong being sarcastic when he says at the end of the episode 'well that was fun, wasn't it Duggee?'
Why do I sometimes end up watching to the end of the episode even though my toddler never does? Also, where do I send off for all the badges I have thus accumulated?

I absolutely love hey duggee! I like the panda and the tiger who get married. Cant Remember their names though!

Chew Chew the Panda is my spirit animal (she's only little). She's married to King Tiger.

The tadpoles episode is brilliant as is the superheroes one.

STEPHEN!

I want to know why Norrie gets away with calling herself a mouse when she is clearly a rat!
Look at the size difference between her, tino and the naughty mice, she's so much bigger she has to be a rat! (I like rats and am overly invested and sad Blush)

Everybody loves those tadpoles! “I’m going on a gap yaaaar”

I want to see the floor plan! I mean there's a cheese room and a secret games room but it's like the size of a shed on the outside 🤷

30not13 · 21/09/2019 21:45

@autumn character.com

Celebelly · 21/09/2019 21:47

Yes, his shed is like the tardis. What about that massive cupboard full of cardboard boxes?!

hsegfiugseskufh · 21/09/2019 21:47

Yes delicious Thats the one!

SansaClegane · 21/09/2019 21:50

Duggee is my absolute favourite. I think it's actually aimed at adults and they just very subversively sneaked it into the children's channel.
The shape badge episode is hilarious- but then so are so many others! The bees in the honey badge Grin Betty's dad when they come to visit him in the submarine!
I think Roly's got more than speech delay tbh it's more a moderate learning disability; but he's portrayed lovable and everyone accepts and includes him and it's not even a 'thing' that he's different. Just like there's no need to explain that Happy is adopted and different from his parents... it's just the way it is. THAT is proper inclusion. Love that show.

QueenWhatevraWanabi · 21/09/2019 21:56

The one where mole puts his glasses on and duggee becomes an actual (non animated) dog

ALoadOfTwaddle · 21/09/2019 21:59

Bing is not set on an organ farm. Even with a high-commodity product, there'd be no need for that sort of input. Wouldn't happen.

I think Flop and Amma etc. are cybernetic beings designed by the people who created the mascot for the London 2012 Olympics to be as unthreatening as possible yet still very strong. They're far lower cost than foster carers once you factor in savings over the life of the child and can be more easily monitored. They're designed to bring up looked after children in a way that promotes attachment. I think I'm right in saying I've seen adult animals playing with their children in the park on some episodes, so clearly some small animals do remain with their parents.

ALoadOfTwaddle · 21/09/2019 22:01

Also

Waaaaaaaaater. Grin

TonOfLead · 21/09/2019 22:03

Tadpole badge you say?

WereThereAnySexualProblems · 21/09/2019 22:07

Please Google Hey Duggees silhouette! 😂

drspouse · 21/09/2019 22:07

My theory is Duggee can talk but only the Squirrels can understand him. The funniest bit is when he reads them a story (and they do seem to understand).

SinkGirl · 21/09/2019 22:10

How do they decide which animals talk and which just make animal sounds? Hmm

RedLemon · 21/09/2019 22:13

sinkgirl those cookies are amazing!
They brought this image to mind though clearly yours did not go in that unfortunate direction.

puffhuffle5 I love the ostrich exercise video, I always put it on for my DD but more for myself!

Also love the German mice, let's get to the autobahn or something like that!

I think it's absolutely genius and gutted I can only watch the episodes on Netflix, sounds like I have missed loads of good ones!

Stringervest · 21/09/2019 22:18

The tooth brushing badge and the short clip just of the song itself on iplayer (exactly 2 minutes long) is the only thing which has prevented my child from having a mouth full of fillings.

MittsMajuna · 21/09/2019 22:21

Love it.

Stick.

Stick.

I love love love the train badge and the clickety-clack song. Hey Duggee is the only modern children’s TV show we watch regularly in our house, and I agree with the pp - a lot of the jokes/references are aimed at adults. Very clever script writing and characterisations.

mamansnet · 21/09/2019 22:29

Why are they all called squirrels when they're clearly anything but?

Why can't duggee talk?

Does Alexander Armstrong get a sore throat after recording in that fake voice for so long?

OrangeSwoosh · 21/09/2019 22:30

Bing is a massive big eared twat. Why do they think it's ok to put a Kyd's TV program on where the way they speak is so wrong?

"I growed tatoes" - no, you grew potatoes you fucking bellend

OrangeSwoosh · 21/09/2019 22:30

Kids...

Celebelly · 21/09/2019 22:30

@RedLemon 😂😂😂😂😂😂

OrangeSwoosh · 21/09/2019 22:31

I've also found the best hey duggee Christmas present but I'm not sharing the link until I've bought it myself or it'll be our of stock forever 😂
