Shiny new thread, continuing from here

A diary thread for our daily meals, to record, share, glean menu inspiration and chat, but no judging each other’s food choices.

Shreddies with semi skimmed milk
A packet of crisps
A big triple chocolate cookie
A satsuma and an apple
Katsu chicken curry and rice
A box of maltesers

Not my finest day Blush

AwkwardSquad · 04/10/2019 21:02

@secondaccount the thread isn’t about diet or weight loss or whatever. It’s just for sharing, and a safe space away from the pressure to justify what we eat.

That should say ‘dieting’.

B - muesli, flaxseed, raspberries, yoghurt
L - butternut squash and lentil soup, three plums, half a slice of lemon cake
D - small M&S beetroot and feta salad pot

Currently on a train eating chocolate peanuts

AwkwardSquad · 04/10/2019 21:11

Hello all, I've been away on hols with no WiFi (the horror!) so haven't been able to post. Ate lots of nice things while away though! Today was a bit more bog standard:

B - oat crisp, pear
Morning tea - treacle and ginger scone with clotted cream
L - nothing
D - olives and breadsticks, pizza with tuna, red onion and capers, garlic bread, salad, 2 glasses rosé, then some squares of chocolate and a milky coffee.

paperdreams16 · 05/10/2019 00:24

Breakfast: coffee, tomatoes on a slice of toast with pesto, parmesan and avocado (out) and a green smoothie

Lunch: sausage roll and a rice crispy cake (nutritious!)

Dinner: teriyaki salmon with noodles and veg, a few glasses of wine and a mars bar

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 05/10/2019 02:50

Didn’t really eat breakfast, just smacked all morning on raspberries, frozen peanut butter bites, rich tea biscuits and sugar snap peas
L: mixed nut butter and banana on
S: handful of dried peas and a handful of kalamata olives
D: Chana masala and curries quinoa, courgette and kale
2 beers

AwkwardSquad · 05/10/2019 07:08

The African peanut thing is basically a really nutty sweet potato stew
Very nice.

Penang tofu and sticky rice

GrapefruitGin · 05/10/2019 13:30

2 x LM sausages in a wholemeal wrap with ketchup
An apple pie cookie
A bag of hula hoops
A Diet Coke

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 05/10/2019 16:23

B- sourdough toast with butter and Jam. Lots of black coffee

L- bacon roll. Few crisps

Dinner tonight will be chorizo, chicken, lentil red wine stew
Dessert home made rum & raisin ice cream
A nice glass off wine or 2 as well

Bloodybridget · 05/10/2019 17:09

First day post chemo so not very hungry, and most things taste bad.
B: slice of toast and butter, black coffee
L: 2 eggs scrambled on a slice of toast, half a cup of tea, two prunes.
Supper: there's some baked chicken breast that I thought we could have with a jacket potato, but now I'm wondering if roast potatoes might be more appealing, and some gravy. Savoy cabbage and carrots also possible.

PrivateSpidey · 05/10/2019 17:38

Thanks Awks

Re the ginger and treacle scones - I made them - basic scone recipe but just added some ground ginger (2 tsp I think) and a tbsp treacle - they were quite nice and autumnal!

Today is as follows:
B - muesli, greeek yogurt, strawbs, Vogels toasted with cherry jam
L - tuna salad roll, half sausage roll, pear
D - have made a lasagne so we might have that with garlic bread and salad, or we might go out and have the lasagne tomorrow...

bloodybridget Flowers for you

AwkwardSquad · 05/10/2019 18:12

Bloodybridget Flowers roasties sound like a good plan 👍

I’m going to give that a go, Spidey

B - muesli, flaxseed, grated apple, yoghurt, maple syrup
Handful of chocolate peanuts
L - pub lunch, had veggie burger with smoked cheese and onion marmalade, sweet potato fries and a couple of onion rings. A few squares of plain chocolate with dried sour cherries.
D - not hungry. Might have a snack in a bit. Possibly sliced apple, a bit of cheddar and a few walnuts.

OP posts:
RuffleCrow · 05/10/2019 18:48

A bar of chocolate
Several oranges
A block of smoked tofu
A banana

I suppose it could be worse. I need to make some soup, really. Broccoli and cheese.

Nuttyaboutnutella · 05/10/2019 19:00
