Shiny new thread, continuing from here

A diary thread for our daily meals, to record, share, glean menu inspiration and chat, but no judging each other’s food choices.

Awkward Squad that pasta dish sounds love, I'll give it a try one day!

B: porridge with banana and raisins
L: lentil, chilli and chickpea soup, tuna melt wrap. Square of dark chocolate and a spoonful of Nutella from the jar 😂 (trying to take this gaining weight seriously, ha)
S: few pringles
D: homemade cheeseburger in a brioche bun, chips and salad

Going to have some fudge yoghurt and maybe a small glass of wine soon

B- mince pie porridge made with almond milk
S- 2 plums
L- itsu katsu instant noodle pot
S- popchips, 2 x rich teas
D- cottage pie with veg
S- mince pie, banana, handful (fistful) jelly beans

B - toast with marmite

L - sausage roll and a cake out in town

D - baked camembert, tiger baguette, Christmas spiced chutney and a glass of red wine

S - advent chocolate

B - porridge with raisins and brown sugar
S - banana
L - 2 falafel, hummus, salad. Grapes and an apple
D - chicken mushroom and pea risotto, rocket salad. A spoonful of custard (stolen from the dcs bananas and custard!)
S - a mini mince pie, very small slice of a mincemeat slice and a digestive biscuit.

Tea, decaf coffee, herbal tea, squash.
Need to cut the sugar cravings.

Flat white from Costa
A snack size bag of nuts from Aldi
A pita bread with Hummus, tomato and rocket for lunch.
An apple
2 chocolate biscuits
A mince pie
An omelette and peas and french beans for tea.
I've just had a glass of red wine while watching celebrity.

@AwkwardSquad I can’t claim the chicken burger as my own! It’s a Bird’s Eye quarter pounder. The crispy breading is made with popped rice. Really light and crunchy, tastes great! Probably terribly bad for me...

Today:

B: 2 scrambled eggs and Eton Mess advent chocolate
L: chicken salad with a bit of blue cheese, popchips and watermelon
S: raisins
D: spaghetti Bolognese homemade with wholewheat pasta. First time having proper wholewheat- it was delicious. A bit firmer, couldn’t taste any difference.

B: fruit and fibre with banana, toast and marmite, black coffee.
Late morning: two mince pies, tea.
L: beans on toast, tea, chocolate biscuit.
Mid-afternoon: tea, mince pie.
Pre-supper: tapenade on mini bruschettine, large glass of rosé.
Supper: liver and bacon, onion gravy, mash, greens. Baked apple with vanilla ice cream.
I only post here to make everyone else feel they eat almost nothing!!

I feel a bit boring with my same-same days, but it’s helping with losing weight.
B: 2 scrambled eggs, Mousse au Chocolat advent chocolate
L: chicken salad with blue cheese, popchips
S: raisins
D: will be beef stew with roasted gnocchi and broccoli.

B: muesli with milk, mixed berries & honey. Slice of toast with peanut butter.
S: shortbread biscuit with a cup of tea.
L: tomato soup, ham & cheese toastie. A small chocolate bar.
D: Thai chicken & vegetable curry with rice.

L - ham, cheese and onion baguette and some crisps

D - have just ordered a Chinese takeaway. I was going to be good but been stuck inside with two ill children all day and can't be arsed!

@mamaduckbone it's from Sainsburys...not hugely mince-pie like but still a nice change!

B - muesli, flaxseed, kiwi, yoghurt
L - various salad leftovers and the rest of the pot of hummus with some crunchy bits and leaves; some grapes
No dinner as such as I went to a class after work, so I’ve had a lemon drizzle Nakd bar, four oatcakes with peanut butter and an apple. I think I may have a few squares of chocolate too. Proper dinner tomorrow though.

Dh said he saw an advert for mince pie porridge today...it does sound lush!

D - sausage, mash and red cabbage.
Small bit of dark chocolate and a digestive.

B: granola, dried fruit salad, banana, yoghurt. Toast and marmite, black coffee.
Another black coffee.
L: leftover pasta with broccoli and anchovies, parmesan. Satsuma.
Celebratory treat after good news at hospital: black coffee, lemon tart Grin
Supper: plate of nibbles (crisps, bruschettine with tapenade, cubes of Comté) and a glass of rosé, then steak, sweet potato wedges and green beans followed by some Roquefort and crackers, with red wine. Cup of tea, one square of milk chocolate (no, I wasn't being unusually restrained, there were two squares left to share with DP).

L - green Thai curry

D - will be vegetable biryani.... going to be a rice kind of day today.

Up very early so my meals are ahead of schedule too.

B - usual muesli etc
L - box of bits - olives, cheddar, walnuts, radishes, cucumber, carrot sticks
3 marzipan chocolates
D - smoked mackerel pâté on seedy bread, toasted, with beetroot salad, rocket, a boiled egg, tomatoes
Now having an oat molasses cookie.

Very, very tired.

Awkward Squad your box of bits sounds lovely. Hope you sleep well tonight. I know the feeling. Been awake since 4.45am with kids!

B: yoghurt with mixed berries, chopped nuts and honey
S: homemade flapjack at play group
L: packed lunch as out all day. A cheese + pickle wholemeal roll; cucumber and tomatoes; an apple.
S: small handful of pringles and few bites of leftover sausage roll.
D: spaghetti Bolognese, tenderstem broccoli, garlic bread

Over the next few hours: mince pie, coffee, croissant, slice of toast with fried tomato, a few crisps, chocolate.
Supper: salmon en croute, boiled potatoes, green beans, greens. Tea, mince pie, chocolate.

B: 2 scrambled eggs (shared with the cat. He's a bit weird.)
Hot chocolate with a lovely friend
L: salad with four toasted gnocchi and a chicken breast with a sprinkling of bbq rub on top, raisins.
D: Yet to eat, but will be a bit of rump steak, possibly some garlic butter or blue cheese crumbles, on more salad. Mr Twiglets will have chips and peppercorn sauce.
