@Nuttyaboutnutella could you add more nuts and peanuts to your daily food intake? High calorie but good nutritionally. And tasty too

OP posts:

S- advent chocolate, gingerbread spiced rum and diet coke, 2 crumpets with marmite.

2 mugs of Yorkshire tea with semi skimmed milk.

A bacon sandwich on wholemeal with tomato ketchup. An apple.

A black coffee and 2 digestive biscuits.

Half a spinach pizza. Green salad, green olives, roasted red and yellow pepper quarters stuffed with roasted cherry tomatoes, some hummus and carrot sticks. Small glass of chilled dry sherry and a glass of Orvieto.

Nuttyaboutnutella · 02/12/2019 13:27

Awkward Squad good idea. I add almonds to porridge but could definitely eat more nuts. I love pistachios and walnuts so will pick some up next time I go shopping.

Onlyhereforthefood join me in eating lots of delicious cakes and wine 😂 I had my picture taken yesterday and my face looks thin and haggard so could definitely do with plumping it up a little Smile

Pepperwand · 02/12/2019 18:57

B: smoothie

L: cheese sandwich and a packet of crisps

D: spaghetti and meatballs made in my new instant pot....I'm already in love!

S: had a chocolate bourbon and cup of tea at a baby group this morning and will have my advent chocolate later.

onlyhereforthefood · 02/12/2019 20:08

B- mince pie flavoured porridge with almond milk and a handful of raisins
L- costa spiced parsnip soup, pop chips (limited options as town was packed and I was christmas market-ing)
S- 2 lebkuchen, small banana
D- spinach and ricotta tortellini (dipped in ketchup, pure class) and a salad
S- will be an M&S peanut butter bar and something else but I haven't decided what I want yet!

Nuttyaboutnutella · 02/12/2019 21:15

B: bagel with cream cheese and strawberry jam, a clementine, lots of tea as my 6 month decided to have an all night rave!
L: spicy butternut squash soup, 2 crackers with cheese and chutney/pickle, a pear
D: homemade sausage roll, chips & beans. And a glass of white wine.

I'm just about to make a hot chocolate and a mince pie with cream then read in bed as the baby is at my mum's overnight Smile

Nextphonewontbesamsung · 02/12/2019 21:40

2 mugs of Yorkshire tea with semi skimmed (my standard breakfast).

Roast chicken sandwich on wholemeal bread with a little bit of mayo. Minestrone cup-a-soup.

Another mug of tea.

Home made cottage pie and steamed brussels sprouts.

Bloodybridget · 02/12/2019 23:53

B: dried fruit salad, granola and yogurt. Toast and marmite, black coffee.
Mid-morning: tea, toasted teacake and butter.
L: ciabatta bacon roll, satsuma.
Mid-afternoon: two mince pies, tea.
Supper: pasta with mushrooms (and far too much cayenne pepper - DP made it and seriously misjudged the amount required!). Brussels sprouts and broccoli.
Later: two more mince pies and a chocolate biscuit. Three small glasses of rosé wine and a cup of tea.

ringletsandtwiglets · 03/12/2019 09:37

Yesterday-

B: 0% Greek yogurt with a few sliced strawberries and blackberries, with a teaspoon of honey.
L: Chicken salad, M&S salami Milano 'crisps', watermelon
S: Raisins
D: Bunless popped-rice-covered chicken burger and salad with blue cheese.
S: 2 satsumas

AwkwardSquad · 03/12/2019 18:55

Well. Yesterday started well but deteriorated towards the end... bloody bloody trains Sad

B - muesli, flaxseed, kiwi, yoghurt (creature of habit)
L - more of the chickpea and freekeh salad, beetroot salad and some hummus
Then between about 2pm and 9pm, a homemade mini mince pie, a packet of barbecue popchips, a lemon drizzle Nakd bar, two slices of toast with butter, and an oat molasses cookie. Not great.

Today:
B - guess...
L - the last of the chickpea and freekeh etc etc
D - baked potato, veggie chilli, coleslaw, grated cheddar, salad leaf
Probably another cookie in a bit, or some grapes. Or both.

@Bloodybridget taralli! Them’s the things. Very tasty. (Cayenne pepper - so easy to misjudge. We bear the scars)

@Nuttyaboutnutella I love walnuts, we add them to lots of dishes. One nice and easy one, if you like blue cheese - pasta (we use wholewheat penne because the nuttiness works well), blue cheese, toasted walnuts, steamed broccoli.

@Pepperwand you’ve reminded me I have an Advent chocolate 😀

@onlyhereforthefood tortellini in ketchup? Well, it’s technically pasta in a tomato sauce I guess! I used to enjoy cold sliced potato or mash and ketchup sandwiches in my poor student days, I may have to give it a try!

@Nextphonewontbesamsung I also start the day with a couple of mugs of tea, I have had to give up coffee but I will not relinquish tea!

@ringletsandtwiglets popped rice covered? Intriguing - did it work? Sounds like it’d be a good contrast of textures
