A diary thread for our daily meals, to record, share, glean menu inspiration and chat, but no judging each other’s food choices.

Today I’ve been awful.
I took my cat to the vet to be spayed and then hung around doing a little bit of Christmas shopping and ended up eating fast food for breakfast and lunch Blush.

Breakfast - double sausage and egg McMuffin with 2 hash browns and a millionaires latte from macdonalds.

Lunch - a Big Mac burger, fries and a white coffee from macdonalds.

Dinner - I am quite rightfully skipping. If I get peckish before bed I might have some fruit and yogurt.

4 am B: muesli with raspberries, blueberries and banana, toast and Marmite, black coffee.
7.30 am: buttered toast, black coffee.
L: macaroni cheese and salad, tea.
Late afternoon: bag of crisps.
Supper: lentil and tomato soup, toast. Two mince pies, tea.

Hungry day today so far - maybe it's the cold weather.

B: Low sugar granola mixed with oats and milk

L: bowl of spicy veg and lentil soup; two chunky slices of dark rye bread with half an avocado

But I have done a three mile hill walk in the frost.

L: butternut squash risotto with Mackerel and steamed veg, a slice of cherry and almond cake.
Will just have a small snack later.

Oh gosh I'd forgotten about this thread. It's been a few weeks of hell here will illness and to many takeaways and ready meals but finally I'm back in control.
B - thick white toast with dairy free vitalite and coffee with hazelnut milk
S - banana
L - more toast!
D - homemade chicken soup and maybe some churros from Aldis, they are dairy free and rather nice 😊

Feeling utterly fed up today (DS not himself and the baby has a cough and teething. I was up most of the night with her. Oh and period pains, yay) appetite was shit as a result.

B: porridge with apple and raisins (managed half)
L: tomato omelette
D: salsa and cheese quesadilla, and a pear

Might try and have a hot chocolate in a bit

B: granola with prunes and yogurt, toast and Marmite, black coffee.
L: leftover lamb noisettes, half a Turkish spinach and feta pancake, tea, mince pie.
Supper: slow cooked mutton korma, brown rice, spinach, lime pickle, nan. Tea, some dark chocolate with hazelnuts (went to Lidl this morning and stocked up on chocolate!).
Sympathy to Nutty and Toughmonkeys and anyone else who is under the weather, caring for poorly DCs, etc.

I was really hungry today too! I think it must be the cold weather.

B - two mugs of tea with semi skimmed milk.

L - half a tub of fresh lentil dahl soup (from Sainsburys, was very good would recommend) and a small garlic & coriander naan. White coffee.

D - jacket potato with butter, green salad and cherry tomatoes, lots of king prawns in home made marie rose sauce. Then a honey and ginger yogurt.

Snack big handfuls of M&S salt and vinegar snacky things (not crisps, sort of like chipsticks I suppose).

Lying awake now and my stomach is rumbling ... might even have to have breakfast later which is unusual for me.

B - went out for breakfast so had two slices wholemeal toast and huge serving of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon
During day, had some grapes, four oatcakes and a mug of carrot and lentil soup
D - two slices walnut bread, butter, heather honey (and the heel of the loaf)

D: bowl of carrot, sweet potato and lentil soup, 3 scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. A slice of brown bread

I'm bloody starving. Day 10 of a 2 week fast 800. Lost 3lb last week though so I'm sticking with it. Gone to bed early to avoid snacks.

Way too much today. Started OK:

B:small bowl of porridge made with milk and vanilla extract, coffee
S: roast almonds (about 25g)
L: small bowl of brown rice, black bean and tomato risotto, crusty white bread with butter
S: apple, orange, pecan and brazil nuts, more crusty bread with butter
D: 2 pitas, 4 vegan falafel, humous, roast veg, salad
S: 2 chocolate Leibniz, three cups of tea

Not quite sure why I was eating for England today but I find white flour gives me massive carb cravings. If I hadn't had white bread and white pita I'd probably have skipped the biscuits and nuts too. At least I laid off the booze.

Yesterday, B: muesli with prunes and banana, toast and Marmite, black coffee.
Late morning: cappuccino, toasted teacake.
L: carrot and sweet potato soup, ciabatta.
Late afternoon: tea, buttered crumpets.
Supper: slow cooked beef cheeks, roasted carrots, cabbage, chips. Shared an apple and cherry crumble custard with DP (in pub)
Today, B: melon, pineapple, blueberries and Greek yogurt. Sausage, bacon, tomato and mushrooms, toast, black coffee (in B&B).
Mid-morning: tea, half a brownie.
L: tapas: patatas bravas, green beans with tomato, pine nuts and garlic, lamb meatballs in tomato sauce, prawns with chilli and garlic, bread and olive oil. This was in a pub.
Late afternoon, tea and a chocolate biscuit.
Supper will be a sausage roll, more tea, maybe the last of my homemade mince pies.

Gosh what a gluttonous day! But a lot of time spent outdoors in the cold.

Today I've had:
B - oat crisp, apple, toasted teacake
S - some seaweed rice crackers and peanuts, 2 custard creams
No lunch as late breakfast and snacks.
D - chicken with Cajun seasoning, salad, roast veg (squash, peppers, red onions); 2 Rocha pears a bit on the mushy side.

S: cranberry & oat bar, cup of tea

D: just had spaghetti carbonara. And some red wine.
