Shiny new thread, continuing from here

A diary thread for our daily meals, to record, share, glean menu inspiration and chat, but no judging each other’s food choices.

B: crumpets with blackcurrant jam
Mid morning: an apple with a cup of tea
L: bread, cheese & piccalilli. Greek yoghurt with honey
D: haven't had it yet but will be katsu curry with rice and Pak choi. And a glass of red wine.

I've been making food with my daughter (starts weaning next week) and tons of snacks for the toddler, all to freeze. As a result, I've basically been picking all day at various bits, licking the spoon for the cake max, tried some orange and chocolate banana bread and nibbled lots of chocolate chips!

Breakfast - 2 x marmalade and butter on toast and a coffee.

Lunch - egg and cress sandwich on malted bread and a tub of mixed berries.

Dinner - Asian beef bowl which is really very simple... (plain boiled white rice with beef mince cooked in a Chinese bbq sauce, a little chilli and spring onion) with pak Choi. Was going to do chunky soup and dumplings but by the time we got in from a walk with friends and I’d remembered it was too late to get it into the slow cooker!

Dessert - a salted caramel doughnut and a coffee.

Bloodybridget · 17/11/2019 19:57

B: Granola with blueberries, raspberries, banana and Greek yogurt. Toast and Marmite, black coffee.
L: half a ham and cheese baguette, black coffee.
Supper: lamb noisettes, roasted root veg, spinach with garlic, lemon zest and nutmeg. Tea, two (small) mince pies. Small bit of G&B milk chocolate.

AwkwardSquad · 17/11/2019 20:03

Edit to breakfast, it was blackberries not kiwi

@Bloodybridget your homemade mince pies?

The one I had yesterday was very nice, thank you for asking! From local posh patisserie, they make their own mincemeat. Too expensive to be more than an occasional treat but lovely every now and then. Still not as nice as homemade, though.

Today:

B - 2 mugs of tea with semi skimmed.

L - peanut butter and marmite sandwich on wholemeal. A milky coffee with 1 sugar. A handful of green grapes.

D - chicken, veg and cashew nut stirfry (thank you M&S) with basmati rice.
