Shiny new thread, continuing from here

A diary thread for our daily meals, to record, share, glean menu inspiration and chat, but no judging each other’s food choices.

I like random yellow-sticker bargains, they’re good fun Grin

B - muesli with cooked apples, blackberries and yoghurt (the apples were not a success - windfalls, no flavour)
L - grilled salmon with beetroot in tahini yoghurt, French beans with shiitake mushrooms, truffle oil and radicchio, puy lentils with squash, pickled red onion and dolcelatte (I was out, I didn’t rustle this up myself!)
Little packet of cheese triangle cracker thingies
D - garlic mushrooms with sour cream on olive ciabatta this adt, with rocket salad; a few grapes and an oat molasses cookie
And another cookie in a bit

Yum everyone's food sounds so nice today!

I've had
B - some seeded bread toasted with lemon curd (I knew I should never have brought the stuff into the house!) A so called "perfectly ripe" pear that was mushy Hmm
L - chicken soup and toast, a couple of russet apples, a Viscount biscuit (old school!)
D - still waiting for it to be ready, but it's lasagne, garlic bread, salad - apple crumble for afters.

B- porridge with cinnamon
L- itsu satay instant noodles, handful pop chips
S- satsuma, 2 mini gingerbread men
D- chilli prawn spaghetti and some random veg that needed using
S- not very hungry but VERY pre-menstrual so probably about 100000 calories worth of chocolate.

B - scrambled eggs

L - tomato soup plus cheese on toast

T - pork loin, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, peas, stuffing, apple sauce, gravy

Slice of cake i made yesterday to fortify teenagers through the KSI fight.

Today has been....

Breakfast - Greek yogurt, raspberries, a drizzle of honey and mixed seeds.

Lunch - Another portion of the breakfast I had.

Dinner - salt and pepper diced pork cooked with sliced peppers and onions with egg fried rice (added peas in too). Would have put chilli in the pork but it would have been too much for youngest DS.

Might have another slice of birthday cake with a coffee this evening if I fancy it Grin

D: baked potato with beans and cheese, lots of salad

I'll probably have some dark chocolate later

D: Cheese and ham filled pasta, with peas and mushrooms

Forgot to post last night!

B- protein porridge pot
S- satsuma
L- vegetable soup and a wholemeal sandwich thin
S- pop chips
D- spinach and ricotta tortellini with parmesan and a big salad
S- strawberry skyr yoghurt, a banana and a couple of milka chocolates

It's a random use up the fridge snacks week as we're away next week!

Today has been...

Breakfast - 2 slices of date and walnut loaf toasted and buttered with coffee.

Lunch - A banana, a stick of cheese and 2 squares of dark chocolate with lemon and ginger Blush

Dinner - Tuna and cheese melt panini done in the panini press with chips and salad.

Dessert - a very small slice of birthday cake with a scoop of white chocolate and raspberry ice cream with a cup of coffee.

Also ate a Reece’s peanut butter cup. It’s not been the healthiest of days Blush

L - the other half of yesterday’s goat cheese in walnut pastry with salad; quite a lot of grapes
Snack - peanut Nakd bar
D - smoked mackerel and egg salad (leaves, cucumber, tomato, sliced apple, radishes, cooked beetroot) with a slice of olive ciabatta

Maybe a cookie in a bit, there’s a fresh batch in the oven

L: egg mayonnaise roll, and a pear
Cup of tea and a Welsh cake with butter and honey
D: naked steak fajitas (basically didn't fancy the wrap so just had the mix), with cheese, guacamole, salad, and corn on the cob

Going to make a hot chocolate now.

L: 2x pumpkin crackers with low fat philly, coriander & carrot salad
D: corned beef hash with a chunk of tiger bread
Snacks: half hot crossed bun, apple, handful of choc buttons & wine gums.

B porridge with nutmeg, cinnamon and honey, 2 earl greys
S Quite a few almonds. Small slice of blueberry cake. A coffee.
L bowl of homemade veg and lentil soup, some oatcakes and sliced jarlsberg
D chicken and rice dish (pelau), coleslaw, sautéed spinach, avocado. Large red wine.
Lots of water all day.

2x boiled eggs and 2x slices of toast

Beef stew in Yorkshire pudding - tea

Banana, mince pie, mini ice cream lolly - snacks

Totally rubbish food day, WFH with a deadline so stress eating:

fried egg sandwich on wholemeal bread with butter and ketchup.

Filet of fish, fries and frappe thing (DH hunted and gathered at MDs)

Lots of grapes.

Must try harder tomorrow.

numerous ups of decaf tea and coffee.

@afternoonspray is this a savoury crumble? It sounds interesting and delicious! Do you have a recipe please?
I also don’t think that based on your entry for the day you eat too much at all!

@Phycadelicsilhouette - yes, savoury. It was butternut squash, leek and lentils with fresh sage, garlic and a bit of chilli, cooked in a cider-based stock. The topping is wholemeal flour, toasted hazelnuts and gruyere cheese. Can;t remember where the recipe is from - maybe a waitrose magazine.

I actualy prefer a different one, made with fennel, red onions, peppers and cherry tomatoes, topped with walnut and oat crumble with cumin seeds. Just tried this one because DH said he thought it looked nice.

You can make up your own recipe for it, like with fruit crumbles.

I’ve never tried or even heard of a savoury crumble!
