Shiny new thread, continuing from here

A diary thread for our daily meals, to record, share, glean menu inspiration and chat, but no judging each other’s food choices.

Poached egg on toast.
Porridge with blackberries (lunch - often have porridge for lunch).
Then had to work late at desk and ate pasta salad (bought) and packet of hula hoops.
My 5 a day has not been met.
All round pretty miserable food-wise.

Nuttyaboutnutella · 29/10/2019 20:34

OP posts:
onlyhereforthefood · 30/10/2019 20:09

@awkwardsquad quite good, my lovely mum tracked me down a couple...I'm yet to see them in a shop near me!

commanderdalgliesh · 30/10/2019 20:12

My diet is so shit.

Today I've had plums and berries pot from M&S followed by a superfood salad - good.

Then a twix.

Then a Chorley cake for tea 🤔

commanderdalgliesh · 30/10/2019 20:12

Oh and a glass of wine!

lljkk · 30/10/2019 20:36

I'd be starving if that's all I ate, Commander (unless it's a glass of wine like this, maybe). You're gonna give that heartbreak diet person a run for her money. Fitbit agrees I did 3 hrs 20 minutes of activity today & those minutes used 950 kcal but says I only burnt 2250 kcal total. Does not compute...

Anyway, I ate today...
pear, banana, tangerines, mango, dried dates, 5 seashell chocolate
2 pints of milk (mostly skim, mostly with tea)

Large portions: Tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, humus, potatoes
Tiny portions: carrot, cabbage, parsnip, brocoli
Some kind of breaded fishy thing

1 slice bread, 1 pack mini-cheddars
A LOT of Doritos with several chunks of cheese (pudding)

peppermint tea

What have you eaten today? Part 2
DarwinLoves · 30/10/2019 20:42

B - oats so simple cinnamon and a coffee

L - lentil Dahl, green beans, kale and 2 slices of sourdough bread and an apple

D - pumpkin and chorizo soup (made with the insides of our carved pumpkins), cheese on toast and a non alcoholic G&T can

Will still have a cup of tea and a biscuit I think

BarbedBloom · 30/10/2019 20:54

B: Full fat greek yoghurt and berries (again)

No lunch (again) Blush I just wasn't hungry.

D: Prawn and jalapeno bake with halloumi, green beans and broccoli

Drinks: water, plum tea from Korea, turmeric tea

lastqueenofscotland · 30/10/2019 21:41

Toast
Lentil chilli
West African peanut stew, rice and brocolli
Some pringles

Phycadelicsilhouette · 30/10/2019 22:17

@Bloodybridget so glad it could go ahead and I hope food tastes nice again soon!

Breakfast - coffee. I don’t think I had any food but I can’t actually remember Blush. I know I made the DC and DS2s friend eggs on toast and know I didn’t have that and I’m pretty sure I didn’t have anything else!

Lunch - Some coleslaw and a slice of fresh bread with butter.

Dinner - A sausage sandwich on my favourite warburtons malted bread and a slice of banana chocolate chip loaf cake.

Snacks - A mini bag of haribo and a mini bag of Maltesers.

Rubbish!

PrivateSpidey · 31/10/2019 11:31

Hi all, have been in beautiful Wales for a few days break so haven't been posting - back now and back on it! (Had the best chips ever while there, and nearly all the cafes had tea with real leaves, it was fab.)

Anyway. Yesterday:
B - bacon sandwich
L - carrot and lentil soup with yogurt and mini naan bread
S - two choc chip cookies, 1 slice gingerbread, 1 apple
D - chicken and ham pie, roast potatoes, peas, sweetcorn

Nuttyaboutnutella · 31/10/2019 11:32

I have some sort of bad cold/viral infection (the sort to warrant me useless and want to collapse in a heap in bed but I have a 2 year old and 5 month old to take care of). It's shot my appetite to pieces but I'm already struggling to keep weight on and am nearly 8.5 stone which is when I start looking a bit thin, especially in the face etc. Having to force myself to eat!

Yesterday, I made myself eat little and often:
Muesli with mixed berries and milk
Poached egg on toast
Yoghurt and banana
Hot chocolate
Homemade spicy tomato and lentil soup
Few baked apples
2 chocolate biscuits

Today so far:
Porridge with honey
Slice of toast with blackcurrant jam

Bloodybridget · 31/10/2019 16:53

Nutty hope you start to feel better soon, very hard having to look after little ones when you are poorly.
PrivateSpidey your day's food yesterday sounds very tasty - and Welsh chips, yum!
So far today I've had a small bowl of fruit and fibre, black coffee, a bacon roll and a coffee with milk. Options for supper are minestrone, already made, or chicken with something which DP will cook. I can't decide which, if either, I would enjoy.

BarbedBloom · 31/10/2019 17:51

@PrivateSpidey I live in Wales and am biased, but I do love wandering around all the pretty parts. Glad you enjoyed yourself

@Nuttyaboutnutella Hope you feel better

Today has been mostly a write off for me as had a terrible headache for most of the day so couldn't face food. Off to the cinema soon for Dr Sleep so intend to treat myself to some ice cream.

D: Meatballs in a garlic and tomato sauce with cauliflower on the side.

Drinks: water and turmeric tea

AwkwardSquad · 31/10/2019 19:23

Hello and Cake to everyone this frosty evening, Wales and best chips ever sound pretty damn good, Spidey

Tired and a bit stressed here, but it’s nearly the weekend.

B - muesli, flaxseed, kiwi, yoghurt (not that I’m in a routine or anything...)
L - carrot and lentil soup, four rosemary crackers; grapes
D - smoked mackerel and leek frittata, beetroot salad, salad leaves; two oat molasses cookies

OP posts:
Nuttyaboutnutella · 31/10/2019 19:34

BarbedBloom I'm in Wales as well, are you more North or South? I'm south :)

After porridge and toast, I had:
L: beans and cheese on toast, orange segments
Few of my toddler's Halloween Chocolate that my mum got him
D: slow cooked beef casserole, mashed potatoes and tenderstem broccoli

I'm actually rather hungry for first time in days so going to make a cup of tea and dive head first into cheese and biscuits, and probably an apple or pear.
