A diary thread for our daily meals, to record, share, glean menu inspiration and chat, but no judging each other’s food choices.

Greek yog, low sugar apple compote
Loads of coffee

Slice quiche, it was crap. Few leftover roast pots, crap also

Dinner will be leftovers

Trying to @ the regulars from the first thread but it’s bloody fiddly

B - muesli, kiwi, yoghurt
A few grapes and a quarter of pear (cutted up pear Grin)
L - Waitrose lentil and salmon salad; small pot nuts, apricots, tiny bit plain choc; a pear (not cutted up)
A few grapes
D - smoked mackerel frittata and a massive mixed salad

B - yogurt, granola, strawberries (getting a bit sick of this combo now tbh, time for something more autumnal i think!), slice of Vogel's bread with peanut butter
L - carrot and lentil soup, pitta bread, apple
D - macaroni cheese, salad, asparagus

There's a teacake in the bread bin, might have that for supper...

I'm low carbing at the mo:

B: smoked salmon, green tea followed by coffee with double cream

L: salami, olives, feta, salad with vinaigrette dressing, cup of tea

D: roast lamb, celeriac, tenderstem broccoli, green beans with butter

Snack: DD's birthday so had a small slice of birthday cake! Plus a G&T after a looong day.

Carrot and coriander soup from costa (pretty yum), bag popchips
Thorntons caramel shortbread bite
2 poached eggs on 2 potato waffles and baked beans
Magnum (to soothe my throat)

B: tablespoon of granola with yogurt, slice of toast and Marmite, black coffee
Mid-morning: black coffee, couple of taralli
L: cauliflower and cheddar soup, bread
D: sausages in tomato sauce, jacket potato, greens. Small baked apple but couldn't finish it.

B: bowl of berry granola with yoghurt
L: a prawn and grains and beans salad from M&S (nicer than it sounds), then later a plate of chips
D: vegetarian chilli with chick peas instead of kidney beans (because we didn't have any kidney beans), rice. Didn't get to eat it all because I got up to get DC a spoon and the cat was touching it
Just now: 2 crumpets, 1 with cheese on
Mid-afternoon: large choc chip cookie

Slightly made up for yesterday when I didn't get to eat anything after breakfast. Am back at work again tomorrow and hoping for a better day with time to eat, because I feel like death today.

Shared a pear with the toddler and 2 quality street chocolates
D: tomato soup & cheese toastie
Had a mouthful of banana & custard but it was awful, so watery and tasted rank! Truly disappointed as been looking forward to it all day!

Breakfast was coffee, sourdough toast with peanut butter and jam.
Lunch -egg and cress sandwich and iced coffee
Snack- strawberries and quinoa crisps
Dinner- prawn pad thai stir fry with lots of veg.
Drinking-water and two gin and tonics
Not my healthiest day but not terrible!

Yesterday

Overnight oats with fat free yoghurt and mango
Left over balsamic roast peppers, onion, tomato, courgette with a can of tuna mixed with light mayo
A packet of hoola hoops puft
Dusted sole fillet with lemon and parsley, salad, hardboiled egg and meditteranean veg rice
Bowl of fruited wheats with skimmed milk
2l water

L - hummus, grated carrot and sunflower seeds, a few olives, courgette and cucumber sticks; some grapes
Snack - peanut Nakd bar, half a pear (overripe) and some more grapes
D - courgette polpetto with pesto (Anna Jones recipe), green salad; a scoop of fig and ricotta ice cream

6am - 2 slices of toast (50/50 bread) with lurpack and cup of tea

10am - 2 Rocky biscuits and more tea

L- 2 boiled eggs, ryvita, little Yeo yoghurt

D - king prawn, chilli and sun dried tomato linguine , strawberry Cornetto

L- garlic chicken and salad wrap, bag of crisps. This was eaten at the services on the way home from holiday

D- Will be home made burger, onion rings and coleslaw. Bottle of fizz for me and dh once all dc are in bed

Breakfast - porridge with raspberries

Lunch - a slice of marmalade on toast, a lemon fool and some more raspberries

Dinner - butternut squash and red pepper soup with crusty tiger bread and a small piece of chocolate fudge cake with pouring cream.

Snack - nature valley peanut sandwich bar.

I have leftover soup and no fridge or freezer until next week... will it be ok to eat tomorrow or would you get rid of it? Such a shame to throw food away if it’s the latter.
