Having just got my hands on Green Day tickets for next June....

I was wondering what’s the best gig you’ve ever been too??

So far for me, i’d have to say Foo Fighters...with Liam Gallagher a very, very close second!

Too many to mention but stadium size it would be Metallica
Arena size it would be Nick Cave
Academy size Sebastian Bach
Small venue B Dolan.

Queen live magic at wembley and knebworth!

Span1elsRock · 18/09/2019 19:04

Muse at the Emirates Stadium 2013. They were supported by Dizzee Rascal though which DH has tortured me with ever since Hmm

Coldplay on the Ghost Stories tour at the Royal Albert Hall. I was completely mesmerised and have seen them about 6 times since. I know their music isn't for everyone but they are unbelievable live. Brilliant brilliant showmen.

DameBurleyChassis · 18/09/2019 19:05

Foo Fighters last year in London, Shed Seven at Castlefield Bowl last year.

queenrollo · 18/09/2019 19:12

either Jim Jones Revue at Madam Jojos (a few years ago now)

or Dresden Dolls at the Troxy last October.

Turin brakes and hothouse flowers are both just fabulous live

A band i love called Devil Sold His Soul. They have an album called A FrGile Hope which is about going through the apocalypse and the whole album is a bloody work of art (its post hardcore metal so not to everyone’s taste). The last song is called Hope. When I saw them it was their tenth anniversary of the release of the album and they had brought the old singer back so there was two singers, and it was just so perfect, I felt like I was in another world listening to them.
At the time I was going through a mixed bipolar episode and just leaving the house was hard, so I was overwhelmed with emotion. I emailed the band telling them how incredible the gig had been for me, and could I get a poster, and the singer sent me a proper print of the album front cover (which I’m also in love with, need to get it framed), and a really lovely handwritten letter about the gig etc.

Will stay with me forever. I’ve been at front row on the barriers for Muse’s gig at Wembley in 2006(7?) which was good, in a different way.

Thin Lizzy x 4,way back in 1980 and 1981 (when I was aged between 16 and 18). I had been a fan of them for about a year the first time I saw them and I was just blown away. Just lately,I have been reliving a bit of the magic by going to a couple of Limehouse Lizzy gigs,a TL tribute band. Really good, but not as good as the real thing.

BlackNoir · 18/09/2019 19:34

@Goodnightjude1
If it was the Friday night, that's the same one I mentioned. 4th and best time I've seen them.

cloudjumper · 18/09/2019 19:34

Muse (I've seen them 7 times now)
Scissor Sisters
Pink
Depeche Mode

I would love to see Madonna or Kylie!

Clammyclam · 18/09/2019 19:36

Elton John on his farewell tour
He's such an Outstanding showman

filka · 18/09/2019 19:36

Steel Pulse at Oxford Polytechnic (as it then was) in about 1978. The air was thick...

Thin Lizzy at the Oxford Odeon a year or so later

Worst - Steely Dan at Wembley - I'd been a fan for about 20 years and was thrilled that they came to the UK in 1996. But the sound system was completely cr*p.

Pearl Jam at the bowl in Milton Keynes, living my teenage dreams of seeing Eddie Vedder but with a picnic blanket and choice of wines.

Also seeing my sister see Donny Osmond, you could almost see the hormones surge and suddenly my sensible 50 year old sister was a quivering teenager, willing to elbow other women out the way to get to him. I had a blast.

IHaveBrilloHair · 18/09/2019 19:41

Bruno Mars is top of my wishlist when he next tours.
I asked DD and she said Gorillaz at the Hydro in 2018 is her best so far, but she surprisingly said Backstreet Boys put on a amazing show this year.
She's got tickets for Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Slipknot atm.
Weirdly, she's desperate to see George Ezra!
She's a strange mix of me and her!Grin

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 18/09/2019 19:49

One of my favourites was Kings of Leon at the local ice arena about 15 years ago.

Damien Marley at parklife was great too.

Somebodystired · 18/09/2019 19:50

Ha you're in luck OP, I came here to say Green Day! 2017 BST Hyde Park, the time of my life...

MustardScreams · 18/09/2019 19:53

Stevie Wonder was amazing.

Velvet Revolver when Scott Weiland was still lead singer.

I’ve seen Incubus too many times to count and they just get better and better. Brandon Boyd is delicious!

TurnOffTheTv · 18/09/2019 19:56

Michael Jackson for sure

OhMsBeliever · 18/09/2019 20:00

Twenty one pilots this year were bloody amazing!

George Ezra was good as well, he's so sweet.

Someone else mentioned Chas and Dave and I agree, they were great and very entertaining and I met them after and they were lovely.

The Feeling were always good too, I've seen them a few times.

fun. were amazing, when I saw them it was before We Are Young was a hit so really small venue (and I got to meet them after as well)

R.E.M love love love! My all time favourite band, seen them twice.

IndieTara · 18/09/2019 20:05

Pink Floyd im the grounds of Chantilly Chateau in 1994.
Metallica earlier this year
Every time I've seen Aerosmith
Am desperate to see ELO and Fleetwood Mac

IndieTara · 18/09/2019 20:09

@MustardScreams yesto Velvet Revolver saw them at Download

LastMinutesAndLostEvenings · 18/09/2019 20:22

Can't choose one!

@happypotamus agree with Frank Turner at Rock City, show 2000 was amazing Grin

Twin Atlantic at the Barrowlands, felt like a pilgrimage to see them in their hometown!

Foo Fighters and Muse were also amazing for stadium shows.

I'm hoping for Green Day/FOB tickets on Friday!!

VetOnCall · 18/09/2019 20:41

I saw Muse in a tiny venue in Rio de Janeiro in 2009. About 200 people, it was incredible. I've seen them a few times in big venues and they're always great.

All-time favourite concerts are Fleetwood Mac (x2).
Bruce Springsteen and U2 also amazing; seen U2 many times on various tours.

Goodnightjude1 · 18/09/2019 20:53

Anyone wanting Green Day tickets for next June at London stadium.... I got mine in the pre sale today from the London stadium site (thru ticketmaster I think) no problem getting them and not stupidly priced either!
