Do you know anyone that has been on a TV programme?

Whether it’s a dating one, a quiz show, a talent one like X Factor or reality TV... Do you know anyone that’s been on a TV programme? Or have you?!

I like hearing about what it’s actually like behind the scenes on the programmes. DS is reasonably close with someone who was on Love Island. He said you’re told exactly who to speak to and what to talk about (shock...) and that some of the people who are portrayed as horrible and moody are the nicest people in there.

Any stories of your own?

I was on Finders Keepers on CITV back in the 80s.

I won a PGL holiday. It was ace.

I was in the opening ceremony of the commonwealth games in 1986.

I was on tv in the London Olympics opening ceremony.

@iklboo May I ask which series of Pointless or it was? I really want to go on Pointless and did both parts of the audition recently, but I've not been shortlisted. :(

My colleague was also on pointless back in 2013.

I was in a documentary as myself, on Channel 5 in the early noughties. Although I've not seen it myself, many of my colleagues and some others told me that I was "good" in it.

A girl who was in the same class as me in primary school, is now an actress in Eastenders and has been in minor film roles.

@xsquared - it was way back in 2011. We got to the final on our second go & got the trophy. The last answer in our final round went down to 2

That's harsh but at least you got the "coveted Pointless trophy".

I was on The Tonight Show - Lying to get a job ( not based on anything I'd done )

A school friend was on a PGL advert poster that was put up at school. Does that count?

DH was a podium dancer on one episode of The Hit Man & Her; and he was in a FIFA advert with Wayne Rooney about ten years ago.

I know someone who went on the One Show as an “expert“ but their demonstration didn’t work properly as the hosts were rushing it 😕.
I have also been on the One Show and on BBC newsround when I was younger, but only as part of a group and the camera crew came to us so I don’t have any juicy insider info sadly

Loosely related by marriage to a woman who won a large amount of deal or no deal. Came across as wonderful on the show and said she was taking part purely to help close family (medical expenses) they haven’t seen a penny of the winnings, but she’s had numerous exotic holidays and work completed on her property- awful woman in rl.

DH applies to be in the audience of every episode of Strictly every year and we haven’t made it once 😢

You've reminded me, DSis was in the audience a few years ago, you could see her briefly at one point. Very exciting!

DH has more impressive claims, he was at school with a Blue Peter presenter and a famous Olympian. And my Mum was at school with a well known politician.

Not per se, but supermarket sweep returns tonight hosted by rylan, and his security guard sidekick is the dh of a friend of mine 🙂

I’ve been on tv loads this year but never speak about it. I was on again last week.

My nephew was on Bargain Hunt, a christmas special of paramedics v nurses. Our friend was in Call The Midwife. He was also in a spring B&Q advert wearing a pink dressing gown and welding a power tool. He was also a talking carrot in another advert a while ago.
