Simple things that make your life so much edit?

Every night my phone battery would be low and without fail I’d be sitting awkwardly at a funny angle on the couch trying to look through Mumsnet whilst it charged plugged in. DH ordered me a charger for about £10 with a cable over 1m long and it has changed my life! What other small things have made your life much more pleasant?

DH would probably say smart sockets so he can turn the bedroom lamps on and off by voice.

I love my keyless car. As long as it's in my bag I just walk up to the car and it unlocks when I pull the door handle. No more hunting for car keys while wrestling toddlers.

Podcasts on my commute, aromatherapy pillow spray, my e reader and Spotify have definitely improved my life also.

Having a totally separate set of toiletries that are always in my gym bag, in a bag that hangs up on a shower door.

Grambler · 02/09/2019 20:52

Spell check.

OhioOhioOhio · 02/09/2019 20:55

Omg. I love this thread. My thermos mug. Getting my car valeted. 2 duvets on my bed.

Littlechocola · 02/09/2019 20:56

Constantly needing ds's potty and it always being upstairs/downstairs. We purchased another potty. Life so much easier!

My hand held hoover

imarocketman50 · 02/09/2019 20:59

Remote controlled plugs for turning things on and off if i forget before getting into bed.

Bluetooth so I can listen to spotify in the car.

ChipInTheSugar · 02/09/2019 21:00

TWO utensil jars! It seems so obvious but it never occurred to me whilst wrestling to fit stuff in just one!

Bluewavescrashing · 02/09/2019 21:02

Dyson cordless. It's so easy to zip round with it.

OhioOhioOhio · 02/09/2019 21:06

Throwing millions of things I never use out so drawers close.

Pipanchew2 · 02/09/2019 21:09

Internet grocery shopping

Paying for a fortnightly cleaner

A dummy - didn’t give one to DC1 as was being a bit precious about it - gave one to DC2 it’s great!!! Don’t care if he has it till he’s ten so glad we’ve got a weapon in nap battles.

Crackery · 02/09/2019 21:09

Great thread!

dementedma · 02/09/2019 21:12

A car with a heated steering wheel!

LeonoraFlorence · 02/09/2019 21:12

Floor wipes. Emptying the bin before it needs it. Keeping deodorant at work in case I forgot. Freezing milk. My collapsible washing basket. My retractable I'd pass for my key fob. Omg. I love this thread.

GoldPaperStars · 02/09/2019 21:14

This is a brilliant thread.

My new thing is leaving rooms as I would want to come back to them, which means I actually put things away. It takes minutes, makes my head feel so much clearer (and full of smug) and means that I’m not tidying and cleaning in chunks of several hours every week.

TwattingDog · 02/09/2019 21:14

Our Eufy robot vacuum. He trundles off at 9am, hoovers the ground floor for an hour and a half, then takes himself back to bed. I pop him upstairs later when he's recharged. He's amazing.

Joyfulincolour · 02/09/2019 21:15

Fleece blankets instead of sheets as I feel the cold.
Konmari decluttering.
Monthly cleaner.
Gousto food box weekly - massive help as avoids need to meal plan and shop. Food is also like restaurant meals.
Packing cubes for holidays.

elasti · 02/09/2019 21:15

Another one with a set of toiletries that lives specifically in my gym bag.

Amazon Prime.

Ocado.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/09/2019 21:18

Portable mini phone charger
Online groceries
Small purses and an organiser, to make it easier to find things in my bag
Keeping a lipbalm in each of the bags I most use
Spotify and a portable speaker
Keeping a few pairs of shoes at work, so I can commute in trainers
Bar soap instead of handwash, bubble bath and shower gel
Duplicates of my favourite lipsticks in various places - love the Mac minis for this

horse4course · 02/09/2019 21:19

Magnetic spice pots that live on the side of the fridge
Reusable baking mats/cake tin liner so you don't have to cut greaseproof paper or find you've run out
Touch lamps by the bed

Dollymixture22 · 02/09/2019 21:23

Controlling my heating from my phone. Switch it on as I walk up the street.

MorrisZapp · 02/09/2019 21:24

Specific gym towels.
Best sports bra ever.
Raft of toiletries/clothes/tampons/medicines etc kept in office
Enough socks
Firestick remote app on phone because I always lose the little fucker

LeonoraFlorence · 02/09/2019 21:26

Thought of another one. I bought several of my favourite lip balms and keep them in various places such as car, bedroom, handbags etc.
