Pics of him in the press today with other women, you’d think he’d learn wouldnt you.

Tinkly I whole-heartedly agree! I do not wish to derail the thread but your point is proved with Boris Johnson - married twice, cheated, multiple children - some of which not even officially counted for. If he were from an estate block now an MP, he'd have been vilified!

IcedPurple · 28/08/2019 18:18

I thought specifically naming The Sun was pretty good PR, as they aren't exactly a popular paper in the Rooneys' hometown.

Nor were they when Rooney accepted a quarter of a million quid to do a series of exclusive interviews with them.

Ginnymweasley · 28/08/2019 18:27

This is the thing with footballers isn't it.... lots of money, lots of attention etc when they are very young. It's not surprising that so many of them get caught cheating. Some if them will be clever enough to hire good pr people that will stop the series before they start other won't be that savvy. Many if them settle down quite young, seen as better for their image I imagine or they have got a girl pregnant and dont want bad press. They then continue to have loads of attention when they go out, made to feel important and special and gods amongst men etc. This then leads to poor behaviour which sadly many of them are never held accountable for. Their partners stick with them and the news becomes next weeks chip paper. Then the cycle begins again.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 28/08/2019 18:35

I don't think bad behaviour amongst sportsmen is confined to footballers, though people like to pretend it is.

We had a footballer live on our street; lovely family man. Plenty of dickhead rugby players in the locality though.

MidweekObscurity · 28/08/2019 18:37

Depends what you mean by stick? Has Wayne lost any sponsorships for his antics? I think sports sponsors often have behaviour and conduct clauses. The drink driving was particularly shitty. He's still getting paid well from what I can Google.

Boris Johnson has had his antics covered and been criticised, that his Party accept him never mind make him PM is quite boggling to me. But here we are.

I think it's the same protection at work - higher ranking taking care of their own problem children, turn them into cash cows.

IcedPurple · 28/08/2019 18:43

There's also the fact that Colleen has used her marriage to him to gain celebrity status of her own. There are plenty of high-profile footballers out there whose wives don't seek fame. But Colleen did. She and Wayne choose to make their family life public in many ways, so it's natural that their marriage is going to come in for greater scrutiny.

AllFourOfThem · 28/08/2019 19:04

She might like the lifestyle or she might hate the idea of her kids spending every other weekend with their new mum, being paraded on the front cover of heat magazine.
Wayne is 100% the type to remarry the week the divorce comes through.

I agree with this.

Purely my speculation but Coleen isn’t blind. She can clearly see how spectacularly ugly he is and since he clearly doesn’t have personality going for him, perhaps she understandably refuses to have sex with him so has no issue with him having one night stands as she sees their marriage as a financial commitment and nothing else.

Verily1 · 28/08/2019 19:33

Yes given they are going to use ivf to have a girl next time they probably don’t even have sex.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/08/2019 19:44

Didn’t know you could pick the Sex or gender (sorry not sure of the correct wordBlush) through IVF. Sorry to derail

beanaseireann · 28/08/2019 19:45

I've just read what you wrote on Monday at 08.45 TSSDNCOP

PinkZoid · 28/08/2019 20:08

He will keep doing it because he can. She won’t leave him, he’s all she has ever known and probably the only man she has ever been with. She also has her four DC to consider and most likely thinks she is doing the best for them. She isn’t really, all she is doing is teaching them that it is fine to disrespect women.

Grin at potato in a hoodie.

Evilmorty · 28/08/2019 20:25

Not in this country you can’t Awwlookatmybabyspider but you can elsewhere. Tbh you might even be able to in this country if you had enough money.

IcedPurple · 28/08/2019 20:29

I remember people saying baby number 4 would definitely be a girl because of course she had done like the Beckhams are belived to have done and taken steps to ensure it was a girl.

I'm not normally one to clutch my pearls over celebrity gossip, but isn't it a bit off to assume she's desperate for a girl and that her 4 boys aren't enough for her? Maybe she's thrilled to have a house full of boys!

Evilmorty · 28/08/2019 20:33

Re VB and DB, they are local to us and their set up is not uncommon among the people that live in the big houses. Even on a much smaller financial scale, the wives walk around bemoaning the husband and his various affairs but will never ever leave because it means paying for their own petrol, having a car that’s more than a year old, no more spray tans and having to get a job. Who is getting custody of the French bulldog? It’s too hard to decide, we’ll just stay together and cheat on a house other forever because it’s easier. Think TOWIE and Lauren/Mark Wright.

Evilmorty · 28/08/2019 20:33

On each other Grin not on a house!

hotcrossbun4321 · 28/08/2019 22:55

I feel for Colleen - they've been together since their teens, and when you've spent all your adult life with someone it must seem unthinkable to leave them. Especially the thought of a z-list celeb being on the cover of OK magazine with Wayne and her kids going on about what a great stepmum she is. She seems very close to her parents and like she was brought up in a close knit nuclear family and wants the same for her kids (went through a phase of loving her in my late teens when I aspired to dress like a WAG so used to follow all her shows etc!).

He treats her with utter contempt though to keep doing it so many times - vile.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/08/2019 23:02

Fully agree purple, Who’s to say she didn’t want all boys. Not every women yearns for a daughter.
I remember asking a mum of 3 boys if she was hoping for a girl, and she said. “Do you know what. No I want another boy. I know how boys work. I wouldn’t know what to do with a girl. Id rather stick to what I know.

Verily1 · 28/08/2019 23:09

It wasn’t idle speculation www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/coleen-rooney-looked-gender-selection-18944315

keepingbees · 28/08/2019 23:30

That last line of Wayne's tweeted statement is hilarious. Hypocrisy at its finest.

KickOffTheSundayShoes · 28/08/2019 23:37

Especially the thought of a z-list celeb being on the cover of OK magazine with Wayne and her kids going on about what a great stepmum she is

This is exactly what I think she is trying to avoid.

MadameFoner · 28/08/2019 23:59

I definitely think its more to do with him moving on, which i think he would quite quickly, there would be a queue of ladies waiting to step into CRs shoes and each would be in a race to get pregnant by him.

Eeyoreshouse · 29/08/2019 00:21

Fhs isn't it awful enough that her dh's unfaithfulness is paraded in the papers without having her life choices picked over by posters on this thread. None of us know her reasons for staying and it's none of our business. WR is the one at fault remember. Leave her alone.

HandsReachingOut · 29/08/2019 00:40

That article is pure speculation. Why would CR go all the way to Mexico to look into gender selective ivf if she doesn't mind having a 5th boy. Their 'source' sounds hard up for cash and not a reliable witness.

Supergrassyknoll · 29/08/2019 00:44

David Beckham is a truly dirty dog, shags everything, their PR is tight as fuck but it's known in hush hush circles. It's purely a business arrangement now, as someone else mentioned previously. I feel for Victoria and Coleen but it's their lives, their choices.

BriannaRandallFraserMackenzie · 29/08/2019 01:01

I can understand Coleen, they were very young when they got together, he is likely all she has ever known. It might be hard to imagine starting again, especially when your only experience with men is that they mess about with every girl or Granny he can find. She may well have grown up herself in a home where her Father cheated and her Mum held it together at home.

Coleen seems lovely in any of the interviews I have watched, I don’t think it’s money. I think it’s more that she has so little self esteem that she believes that she couldn’t do any better than she already has. That and it’s so easy to blame it on the drink, my brother is an alcoholic and such a lovely bloke when sober, but makes the worst choices when drunk. I can see how promises to stop drinking and that it would never happen again could continue.

Coleen, if you do happen to read this- you deserve so much better! You are beautiful and any man would be lucky to have you!
