Am not sure why the press continually publish this shite tbh. His wife knows, so what is there to be gained in plastering it all over the media.

And truth be told I think that this kind of behaviour is pretty much the norm among celebs. It’s not particularly edifying but it is what it is really.

No doubt she will give him another ultimatum. Then possibly a 'make or break' holiday. Give it a few months and she'll announce she is pregnant.

So Colleen gets good tables cleared for her in the posh bars, she is welcomed into restaurants with deference, she gets to go into the VIP enclosure at the races and shops make an enormous fuss of her. However, her celebrity status is entirely down to her husband. What else does she have?

What happens if she divorces him? He finds a new girlfriend, and if she sticks around, she takes Colleen’s spot as the queen bee. She won’t like that, no matter how big her divorce settlement!

I think the fact they were together before they were famous must count for a lot of it. They’ve been through so much together from very young Thats pretty irreplaceable and they both know it.
I’m guessing Colleen thinks the family unit is worth staying for.

All this bullshit about staying with him to keep her life style.

She would clean up in a divorce she is with him since their teens married and has 4 small children. She could divorce him and spend her life flying the world holidaying and still be absolutely loaded.

I think it has fuck all to do with money and actually that she does really love him and doesnt want to break her family up.

I'm sure that's exactly why she stays...a VIP experience. Nothing to do with the 4 small children she has or her ten year marriage and life she has built but definitely the no queuing to get in a nightclub. That's definitely worth level of humiliation and commentary heaped on her.

This is absolutely unreal - women leave abusive situations with their children and the clothes they stand up in for refuges, not knowing where the next tin of baked beans on toast will come from.

She’s a pretty staunch catholic, divorce may not be on the cards. Plus her parents have been together for ever.

I believe she stays because she loves him and because she wants her children to have an unbroken family. She has been with him since they were children and he didn't have a pot to piss in.

They were not even married when he first cheated on her in quite a spectacularly public fashion. She had no children then and yet still took him back. I wonder why??
She also only got together with him after he was picked for the youth team. It’s documented that she knew him prior to that but didn’t ‘associate’ with him and approached him very quickly after his new found ‘school celebrity status’.

Yes absolutely it is his fault for continuously cheating but posters have every right to point out reasons why she would keep taking him back and having more children with him, when most self respecting women would be long gone. Now Una Healy I respect-her husband caught cheating once, that’s it, he’s told to leave. Very difficult to do so and I admire her self respect.

You shoud all read the book by The Secret Footballer. This kind of thing going on right under their wife's nose is completely normal in the industry.

They are encouraged to settle young before they are ready, they have their life micro managed, the get paid ludicrous amounts of money, they are spoilt and women will be all over them because they are famous

I think many a young mans dream is to have this life he is living it and doesn’t want to grow up yet and he hasn’t grown up and he has a wife that puts up with it time and time again many women do his it isn’t a press story

They've been together since they were school kids, long before he was famous, or signed up, he was a YTS. She's also a catholic and devoted to her faith - which MN will mock her for, having 'sky fairies' and other such derogatory terms.

But ultimately, her life, her marriage is her business, no one elses.

None of know these people, you just salivate over what story the media is pumping out this week. I think it's quite sad that empty lives just sit to pick through others perceived misfortune.

At some point in the next few years his playing career will end and the money is going to run out. (I very much doubt he has the aptitude for high level management or sports commentary, which are his two main future career options). I can’t imagine they’ve saved much, given their spending habits. From a purely financial view, now is absolutely the right time for her to divorce him and get a solid settlement.

He's currently earning over a million a year in US at the tail end of his career. He was earning hundreds of thousands a week at his peak. What job has she ever done that earnt anything like that kind of money?

I don't know if she stays for the lifestyle/money or because she loves him. I've known women put up with the same shot for a lot less than a big mansion in Cheshire.

Colleen would be far better of finalncially is she left him, she has her own career now, she has a name in her own right, she isn't just Mrs Rooney, and even if she were, well, the payday would fund a lovely lifestyle where she could dabble - obviously she doesn't want to.
