Mine are all from complicated relationships in my 20s & 30s

Chicane - No Ordinary Morning - I listened to this a lot after my first serious live together boyfriend left me suddenly with no explanation

"If there was nothing that I could say
Turned your back and you just walked away
Leaves me numb inside I think of you
Together is all I knew
We moved too fast, but I had no sign
I would try to turn the hands of time
I looked to you for a reason why
The love we had passed me by"

And then really all of these about a complicated very on/off 'thing' that went on for about 8 years altogether and was very emotionally messy (for me)

Lana Del Ray - Born to Die ("because you and I, we were born to die" - a relationship that was only ever meant to end)

Adele - Someone Like You

Gnash - i hate u i love you

Through the barricades by Spandau Ballet.
Reminds me of my first relationship that didn’t work out as we came from different backgrounds.

'Play Dead' by Bjork.

Reminds me of a lot of university and early adulthood. I really wasn't very well but I didn't realise it. The lyrics and the rising strings just 'get' me, iyswim. Just listened to it for the first time in a long time as DP and I are watching youtube, doing one song each, and it didn't affect me as much as it has before.

Dire Straits' 'Romeo and Juliet' is also a pang I've struggled to get through in its entirety. It's just so bittersweet.

Going Underground by The Jam or really any Jam song takes me back to being a teenager & going to Youth Club.
Long Hot summer by The Style Council & Red red wine by UB40 remind me of having left school, hanging about in the park & at the Lido in the summer, ghetto blaster on full.
Amazed by Lonestar was mine & my late partner's song that we had planned to have as part of our wedding music.

Anything by teenage fanclub. Anything on Siamese Dream. To be honest pretty much everyday I’m floored by some song or another that really transports me back in time.
