Also don Henley boys of summer. I can't really explain why. I think because the reference is to the end of summer and it triggers feelings of SAD 😂

And crowded house fall at your feet. My heart!! Takes me back to a strange point in my life.

Don't panic - the first track off Coldplay's first album - reminds me heavily of the time with DD's dad who was an utter arsehole. Although I do love that album that track makes my hair stand up.

All of Franz Ferdinand’s first album. It reminds me of a specific time in my life in a very visceral way.

Ain't no pleasing you by Chas and Dave. Was my great nan's favourite song and makes me think of her.
Wind beneath my wings by Bette Midler from Beaches. I'd just found out my mum had a rare blood disorder and I thought she was going to end up like the woman in the film

MMMBop by Hanson - reminds me of a perfect summer, before my life fell apart.

All these 90s songs mentioned for me. I listen to them a lot. Takes me back to my high school years, the only time in my life I was happy. What would I give to go back in time.

Savage Garden - Two beds and a coffee machine. I can't even think of that song without wanting to cry. I was happily falling in love and that song was 'our song'. It ended so so badly.

A song by Perry Como, I think it's called 'And I love you so'. My mum used to sing it to our cat, and we played it at her funeral (mum's not the cat's). Reminds me of her so much (still my mum, not the cat).

Everybody Hurts by REM. I remember hearing it on the radio just after my dad died and crying my eyes out cos it was just how I was feeling.

On BBC4 on Thursday and Friday nights, they’re rerunning the old Top of the Pops. Right now we’re up to May 1988 and the number one is Theme from S-Express by S-Express. At the time I was 16, and when I should have been revising for my GCSEs I was out clubbing and this was a real club anthem. I had a very misspent youth and regret wasting my education to this day, meaning I still physically cringe when I hear this song every time!

@bluemonkeysocks I’ve just listened to it for the first time in 10 years and blimey. I remember hearing it when I was 20 and thinking it was profound in the way that 20 year olds do. Now it actually makes sense.

Mines Massive Attack, Teardrop. My life changed dramatically the year I first heard it and it takes me straight back to the utter desperation I felt at the time. I am so glad I get to listen to it now and remember though.
