Who would do something like this? Scary.

@Morgan12 same 😥😢

bebeboeuf · 05/08/2019 17:07

We went there this weekend and I had such a bad feeling I had to leave.
Such shocking news. This is unimaginable.

Cookit · 05/08/2019 17:19

How many parents cradle their 6 year olds in their arms?
Well cradling no but holding for a cuddle or to show something surely quite common?

I find this story just very hard to read.

Justaboy · 05/08/2019 19:55

Says now the boy was a French national visiting London;!.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-49232807
Sayes there that;

"The child's mother then tried to climb the rail. I restrained her and pulled her back."

Poor woman what a vile experence to go through:(

ThomasFurious · 05/08/2019 20:36

"The child's mother then tried to climb the rail. I restrained her and pulled her back.". My God, there's nothing like a parents' love is there (most parents' love).

For her to have had the presence of mind to speak in English too is really admirable.

Pricedrop · 05/08/2019 20:36

I'm reminded of the recent case of the girl who jumped from a plane, she was thought to have been suffering a psychotic episode brought on by anti malaria pills

Was it Latium. I thought my husband was trying to kill me when I took Larium

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 05/08/2019 20:39

That primal scream they speak about makes me tearful. I’ve heard that scream and there’s not a sound on this earth like it. It just rips through your body.

Poor, poor family.

Valanice1989 · 05/08/2019 22:05

This is such a bizarre story. I'm amazed (pleasantly!) that the boy apparently has no life-threatening injuries.

PolkaDotted · 05/08/2019 22:20

The BBC says that he's critical but stable so he must have suffered some life threatening injuries.

PolkaDotted · 05/08/2019 22:21

Hopefully though he'll improve, poor kid.

compulsiveliar2019 · 05/08/2019 22:33

PolkaDotted

It's been reported that he is no longer in a life threatening condition I think that is what pp means.

Daisychainsgetbroken · 05/08/2019 22:41

Awful

Echobelly · 05/08/2019 22:49

Kids aren't even safe when you do have hold of them now!!!!!

Sorry, that attitude vexes me. No, in theory no one standing on a balcony is safe from an extremely disturbed person throwing them off it, but it's nothing to do with 'now' as far as anyone can tell, rather an extraordinarily awful one-off event.

MyDcAreMarvel · 05/08/2019 23:00

The little girl Evie survived falling 100 feet inside Primark. She is 14 now , no lasting damage at all.
www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/primark-fall-girl-evie-parry-3417781.amp
Young children are much more likely to survive and with no life changing injuries than adults.

HennyPennyHorror · 05/08/2019 23:03

Marvel I've been looking up similar stories for a bit of hope....this little boy has fallen double what Evie did. He fell 200 feet. But I keep looking at the picture of where he fell and thinking Thank God it wasn't the other balcony which would have been way higher. Some people can survive ridiculously big falls.

There was the NEw York man who fell 42 floors...absolutely weird but he lived.

MyDcAreMarvel · 05/08/2019 23:11

@HennyPennyHorror no it was 100 feet as he landed on the fifth floor.

HennyPennyHorror · 05/08/2019 23:13

I read that he'd fallen 200 feet.I will try to find the article.

HennyPennyHorror · 05/08/2019 23:15

Marvel no you're right! 100 feet! I must have misread it. Well that's a comfort isn't it? I feel more hopeful for him now.

MyDcAreMarvel · 05/08/2019 23:23

I think the 10th floor is 200 feet from the ground.
I really hope he is ok, I know Evie’s family and they did not think she would pull through she was injured so badly, but she did and will no life changing injuries/affects at all. So it’s definitely possible for children to recover from such a distance.
The fact that the doctors have said the little boy’s injuries are no longer life threatening is fantastic news.

livinglavidavillanelle · 05/08/2019 23:28

Such a chilling, horrific thing to happen. My first thought was mental illness, surely nobody sane could be evil enough to just throw an innocent child to their possible death and be all cool calm and collected about it? Who knows.
It's sad that neither family will ever be the same again. God I really hope that little boy recovers Sad

PolkaDotted · 06/08/2019 00:11

Thank you Compulsive. I didn't know that he'd improved so much. That's wonderful news.

HennyPennyHorror · 06/08/2019 01:01

Yes it is isn't it?! So incredible actually....perhaps his young age helped him. I heard that children tend not to tense up like adults do when they fall and that makes your chances better...being relaxed I mean.
