Who would do something like this? Scary.

Sorry “though”, not “thought go”. Autocorrect.

bluebeck · 05/08/2019 10:24

Dreadful thing to have happened.

Yes, the teenager who did this clearly has serious MH issues.

I have been on the platform and I am amazed how this happened. The barrier is 5 feet high so the child couldn't have simply been pushed over. Either he was already sitting on the top and was pushed, the teenager offered to lift him up and then pushed him, or he was strong enough to pick him up and throw him over in one fell swoop.

My heart goes out to the mother and the rest of the family.

Whosorrynow · 05/08/2019 10:31

I'm reminded of the recent case of the girl who jumped from a plane, she was thought to have been suffering a psychotic episode brought on by anti malaria pills

Morgan12 · 05/08/2019 10:53

This has affected me so much. I can't stop thinking about it.

I'd honestly be happy if I could just keep my kids in the house for their whole lives.

DandyLyon · 05/08/2019 11:25

Me too @Morgan12

ditheringdorothy · 05/08/2019 11:34

Same Morgan. That's what stories like this make you want to do. Heard about this last night and tossed and turned all night thinking about it. Poor little boy and his family, hoping for a miracle.

The latest is that the attacker was talking about social services and targeted an Italian family. This is breaking on twitter at the moment

bluebeck · 05/08/2019 12:57

I read that the mother was holding the 6 year old in her arms, and the teeager snatched him off her and threw him down.

He says social services are to blame. Bloody awful.

Justaboy · 05/08/2019 12:59

On the BBC news the police stated that;

A force spokesman added the child was "no longer in a life-threatening situation".

Some good news in this tragic event;!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/08/2019 13:28

How are social services to blame!!!!!Confused

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/08/2019 13:29

Glad he's no longer in a life threatening condition. Just praying he's not left with any lasting damage.

HennyPennyHorror · 05/08/2019 13:29

Spider well that's obviously just the rantings of the person who did such a terrible thing. Not even something to mention really.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/08/2019 13:31

He was ripped out of his mummy's arms.
Kids aren't even safe when you do have hold of them now!!!!!
Lock that beast up and throw the key in the ocean!!!!!

Isatis · 05/08/2019 13:35

I'm a little sceptical about the "ripped out of his mother's arms" quote and suspect some artistic licence on the part of the person who claimed that. How many parents cradle their 6 year olds in their arms?

Pieceofpurplesky · 05/08/2019 13:36

@Isatis the mother probably picked him up to see over the railings as they are quite high and he should have been quite safe in her arms.

Pieceofpurplesky · 05/08/2019 13:38

Actually @Isatis your comment has really pissed me off. Think about what you wrote in the context of what happened - she wouldn't have just handed him over to a complete fucking stranger

LoseLooseLucy · 05/08/2019 13:39

Oh this is so awful, praying he recovers. Absolute unimaginable horror for a parent to witness that 😩

Isatis · 05/08/2019 13:39

Try reading comments fucking properly before deciding to be pissed off, Pieceofpurplesky. I never once suggested that the mother handed her child over to anyone.

Comefromaway · 05/08/2019 14:40

Thank goodness his condition is no longer life threatening. I hope his injuries are not life changing.

coconuttelegraph · 05/08/2019 15:38

she wouldn't have just handed him over to a complete fucking stranger

You're totally mis-reading the post, no one is suggesting that, the poster is saying that maybe "ripped out" of his mothers arms isn't literally what happened. It hasn't been made public yet

GettickledGETTICKLEDbyspiders · 05/08/2019 16:13

I have held strangers kids before, at fireworks I lifted up a child that couldn’t see because his mum had twins she couldn’t lift them both. Other people have held my kids for me as I had them close together and couldn’t manage by myself on the bus. So I guess people do hand their kids to total fucking strangers. I guess most mums would rather ask another mum type instead of a teenage boy.

Tigger001 · 05/08/2019 16:27

It is just so scary how in a split second your life can be changed forever.
This must just be horrendous for the mother and I hope the child doesn't have any lasting life changing Injuries.

It is so upsetting.

contrary13 · 05/08/2019 16:31

My daughter was there at the time. She said it was absolute chaos - no one really knew what had happened, there was just an awful lot of screaming, and everyone running. She thought there'd been a terror attack, or something, for a while (perhaps understandably). And she's under the impression the 17 year old was a stranger to the mother/little boy, too, so...

London was very busy this weekend, what with the protests going on, and some cycling event to raise money for charity, and idiots setting off fireworks or flares at Victoria station...

I hope the little boy pulls through - but cannot even begin to imagine the horror, guilt, terror, etc., that his mother will have to deal with, regardless of his recovery, or, y'know, not. Sad

ThomasFurious · 05/08/2019 16:46

What kind of trauma will that poor child have thought go, even if he survives? Utterly horrendous.. I'm hoping any concussion removes memories of that day. His parents will relive daily though. 😞
